And so I've come to a crossroads · 2:16am Nov 13th, 2012
Hey everyone,
I need to start out by apologizing for my lack of activity here in the last few months. I could blame it on the fact that I've been busy, and that would be completely true. To be honest, however, there's a more disturbing reason for it.
Very few people would call a lack of enthusiasm for writing fanfiction "disturbing," but considering the show I'm writing it about was all I could talk about for the last six months, and also the show that literally saved my life, I view it that way. I have no idea why, but my motivation to write for this website has completely disappeared. It makes absolutely no sense, because I haven't been this happy in years. And yet, here I am.
I am, as I type this, watching the season three premiere. I'm also reading over some of my old stories in an attempt to figure out where my inspiration originally came from. As of now, though, I haven't the slightest clue.
I want to make something clear: I am not retiring from FimFiction. I love you guys, I love this community, and I know that deep down, my desire to write is still there. Until I figure it out though, I at least wanted to let you know where this lengthy sabbatical came from, and why it's probably going to continue for quite a while.
You guys are amazing, and more than a bit of the reason that I'm still here today. I want the very next thing under my name on this website to be a story worth waiting for, so thanks for all your patience.
Hugs and brohooves to all of you.
Cheers mate.
Read some good fiction. Pony or otherwise. It's the best fuel I know of
Join the larger community here and just read... or don't. Either way as long as ponies keep you happy I don't mind
Take your time. I can't speak for anybody else but I for one would rather you be happy & healthy than to see you force yourself to write stories due to some misconceived notion of "Owing" us something. Writing is, at least in my opinion, an expression of one's passion to share a story. If you don't have that passion that desire then by all means take the time to find it. Even if you don't I wish you the best of luck in your future.
I thoroughly enjoyed your work, and I wish you the best of paths available in this crossroads in your life. And if you choose a path that does not ring with the trotting hooves of ponies, then that is what you have chosen, and I respect that.
>not quitting
Y U QUIT!?!???
*ahem* Ah well, I totally understand. Good luck and such.
Perhaps your inspiration came from the simple urge to pay tribute to what you loved so much. Rewatch as much as you can. See if it helps.
Please, take as long as you need. We can wait, there's no reason for you to ever have to force yourself to write.
I've had bouts of the same thing.
It's really freaking annoying.
If your predicament is in any shape congruent to mine, it's simply because new things have pleased you more than writing recently has; probably.
*hugs*

Reading is magic!
I'm sure you'll find it again.
It actually makes perfect sense. If I recall correctly, the well known AbsoluteAnonymous mentioned once before leaving, that writing pony fiction was her way of dealing with some personal problems. So when those problems had ended, she decided to quit as well and start a new chapter in her life, so to speak.
Although I wish her all the best, I will certainly miss her stories.
Of course, I don't mean to imply that your situation is the same. Well, you did mention that the show saved your life, which may indicate you had had some problems, but who am I to jump to conclusions?
What I mean to say is that it had happened before. As in Abby's case, I will certainly miss your stories. For the time being at least, as you at least left some hope that you might be coming back somewhere in the future.
Having said that, let me wish you all the good luck with whatever awaits you on the path you choose, and let me assure you that you will always be welcomed back here.
Also: great performance at EQLA panel. I watched it streamed, but it was certainly worth it.
Motivation should not be acquired, but obtained naturally in idle thought, else your stories will seem too rushed and no one will like it :/
~hugs~
(^_^)/)
I have enjoyed all of your stories, from beginning to end.
I am looking forward to the time you find inspiration to write another, but until then I will wait.
You enjoy the time off you are taking, don't just use it to ~find~ what you are looking,it will find you.
We all love you,take care.
