    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Thoughts on "The Summer Sun Setback" · 11:56pm Aug 30th, 2019

Okay, ignoring the recent leaks that are slapping everyone on the face so I can focus on the US releases and digest them properly. Let's see how the Summer Sun Celebration nearly goes awry this time.

Props to the Legion of Doom for being clever and competent this episode. Just watching them seamlessly manipulate events so that everyone's distracted with the party falling apart while they break in--all without getting caught (except by that one guard--what happened to him?)... I was just amazed by the entire thing. And amused by Tirek just grabbing that pie and that one line of "How many parties do these ponies have?".

And props to Twilight for finally getting her panic habit under control... even if it does seem so sudden after the last episode.

I was initially sad that they were just removing the show's iconic holiday... but then they revamped it into the Festival of the Two Sisters and I was relieved that they still had their summer solstice holiday. I do wonder what the festival is like in the future, but I guess we'll never find out.

So, uh... not much to say, I thought it was pretty good.

Except they still have the dino-geese. WHAT.
