My Little Pony Season 9 News 08/30/2019 · 4:50pm Aug 30th, 2019

Oh great... We get the episode with this guy...

GOOD AFTERNOON, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the final season of MLP! In light of recent events of the possibility of Hurricane Dorian's arrival in my state, the delays in regards to my late reviews for the season will now take much longer than planned. Henceforth, it should be known to my fellow readers that the family and I are fully prepared with enough supplies at home and our cars filled with enough fuel to last a week. On a much lighter note, if not close, there is a matter of a certain subject that I find more 'stressful' than even a Hurricane can provide:

Angel Bunny... Yes, it's no secret that he's not one of my favorite characters in the MLP series. When comparing him to the rabbit companion of the Moochick (We're talking thirty something years before FIM), as a companion for Fluttershy he's a mixed bag of fluff. On one hand, he seems like a rather spoiled brat who treats Fluttershy harshly but other times he 'does' try to be helpful and 'seems' to care for Fluttershy... To an extent. Now a week just after having seen a fun-filled episode with Summer Sun shenanigans we now tackle a Fluttershy episode which deals with this relationship between master and pet while taking a rather 'interesting' story to go with it. Which leads us to the subject of tomorrow's episode, weather-permitted, entitled:

She Talks To Angel

While I do note the episode was released early in China, I must once more ask this one favor:

NO SPOILERS!!!

Thank you, Rarity.

You're welcome, Darling.

In regards to the episode's story, Fluttershy and Angel Bunny's relationship has hit the skids; but in my opinion, when is it 'never' on the skids? To remedy the situation at hand (Or hoof), Zecora gives them a potion to help them 'understand' each other. Now the thing with Fluttershy and Angel is that the subject of this episode actually connects to this question that's been bothering fans since Season 8. With Fluttershy teaching students at the school, running her sanctuary, her hangouts with Discord, and on occasion saving Equestria from the threat of an Apocalypse, where does Fluttershy manage to find any time to do the things she used to do until Twilight Sparkle came into her life? If anything, Angel Bunny to Fluttershy is almost in comparison to a 'needy' cat with their owner (And I'm actually not talking about Opal), how everything needs to be about Angel and everything else just gets in the way. If Angel Bunny wasn't giving Fluttershy a hard enough time than she already has, it's no wonder she'd be a the point where it's like 'enough is enough'.

Then there are those key words within the synopsis: A potion to help them 'understand each other'... But in what way? On one hand, I would honestly think this would be an opportunity to hear Angel Bunny talk since he's mostly been a relatively silent character. Course, it's no wonder Fluttershy could never understand Angel Bunny (Which says a lot compared to knowing the language of 'all' creatures), like the time he couldn't tell Fluttershy there was smoke on the mountains without having to pointing it out or that one time Fluttershy 'slowly' put together that Angel was reminding her of an important date with her friends... NO, not that kind of 'date'! But on the other hand, whose to say that Angel Bunny needs to have his own voice just to reveal certain parts of his personality? From what we know about potions, it's all a matter of how you 'read between the lines' specifically with this synopsis.

Now as for Zecora, it has been a while since she's had a 'true' featured role in an episode considering how so little she is used in the series. True she had a 'quick' cameo in that 'Cheerleading' episode... I'm supposed to laugh about what Rainbow Dash said of her being useless (As a shoutout to fans who complained about her lack of activity), but I was in a bad mood that week (You'll understand why eventually). But with the final season reaching it's end, it's becoming more and more difficult to give most of our favorite characters some screen time and many fans argue about how some characters are hogging the spotlight that should be shining on others. True some of Zecora's work may not always help the ponies directly, though to be fair most of the 'unfortunate accidents' are usually the fault of the ponies who either don't understand what she's saying or how to use the potions they are given (Could stand for some correct labels especially the Rarity's shaved mane incident). At the end of the day, regardless of how the episode turns out, it's always nice to see her involved in the season if only to show the fans she still exists.

But still the bigger question remains: What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your 'earliest' convenience.

Until next week faithful readers (Hopefully), this is the Dramamaster829 and to all my readers getting ready for the terrible storm this Labor Day weekend... Stay safe!
