With my child on an apparent WALL-E watching binge I am reminded that it contains a dynamic that is a very particular soft spot of mine:

Was in a pet shop the other day. They had a big box of things you could throw for you dog. Among them were branded items. Among the branded items were MLP products.

I'm not sure if it's me, but it feels oddly grim to purcahse a Rainbow Dash exclusively for your dog to maul.

The second best kind of chapter. Just behind romantic fluff.

Death of the author? No, no, wrong term. Something else.

Necromancy of the Author?

I often get the feeling - here and elsewhere - that folks put a lot more care and attention into the reading of what I pinch out than I do into the writing of them.

One can only imagine how authors of the past would have reacted to just how clinically semanticists and critics analyze their works.

Have you ever had an English teacher who delves far too deeply into the curtains being blue in a scene and how that ties into the symbolism, themes, and so forth in the greater story, when the author likely only meant "the damn curtains are blue, so why is this being blown out of proportion?"
