S3 Spoilers!
I've just finished watching the first/second episode of Season Three, and it was absolutely excellent. I don't think Hasbro could have done any better in the time they had. Sure, King Sombra was pretty... meh, but the Crystal Empire certainly made up for that. I think a lot of work could be done with the Crystal Empire, especially in fanfiction. I, for one, may consider including the Crystal Empire in Brushy Brushy, despite having the plot mostly worked out.
The songs were absolutely excellent, and I think the second one is now probably my favourite. Make of that what you will, but I stand by my choice! However, I do have some concerns for the future of the site.
Think of all the thinks that have just been made canon. Dark, mysterious red-and-black villain, dark magic and Crystal Ponies. Brothers, we must stand tall against the inevitable flood of new authors and their red-and-black Crystal Pony Alicorn OCs with the power to use dark magic.

Honestly, while I did love the premier, the songs (especially the first one) felt like they were stuck in there JUST because people were expecting songs. Also, kinda worried about Celestia and Luna's ominous talk about Twilight's future. If they make her an Alicorn, then I will know the writers have given up and are just reading fanfics. Dear god in heaven!
Hold up, couldn't having a dark mysterious red and black unicorn with powerful dark magics being canon be a good thing? Think about it; now all those OC's are even less original than before and therefore lose even more of their evil fic powers; or at least pour all that spite and malice of bad writing into King Sombra; like the One Ring of OC's.
