With my child on an apparent WALL-E watching binge I am reminded that it contains a dynamic that is a very particular soft spot of mine:

Was in a pet shop the other day. They had a big box of things you could throw for you dog. Among them were branded items. Among the branded items were MLP products.

I'm not sure if it's me, but it feels oddly grim to purcahse a Rainbow Dash exclusively for your dog to maul.

    Suppose there's a possibility they'll be gentle, but still. It's a risk, isn't it?

Oh yes, this - I hadn't been aware of this but this happened, too:

For the longest time I was racked with curiosity as to where the TVTropes redirects for And When the Darkness Comes Around were coming from and I had almost given up hope on finding out the source, only to finally discover what it is.

I will never stop being amused at the consternation and confusion of some when confronted by my mastery of the tagging system.

Weirdly, my biggest takeaways from the film are:

A) Animation still weirds me out.
B) Princess Skystar is adorable. She has freckles! Ye Gods! I want one!
C) I'm a huge fan of the Storm King's big ol' goons. For hulking, grunting dudes they have a surprising amount of character. That one guy who snipped the balloon strings for no reason? Class. And later Fluttershy just talks one of them down! Even better!

Man I love goons. As a concept. To be a goon...what a thought.

Ahem.

D) Does Tempest have something against opening her eyes? Guess it's a villain thing. That's okay.
E) Tempest's backstory is that classic "I had something bad happen to me and I am going to base my whole understanding of everything in the whole world off this one experience" schtick that always gets under my skin. Not that that's bad, I just take personal issue with it. Showed up in Castlevania, too...
F) Using Spike as an honest-to-goodness flamethrower, wonderful.

A perfectly acceptable span of narrative time.

Glad ya seemed to get some positive merit out of it at the very least! I enjoyed it quite a lot when it released, myself.

Tempest shadow's real name is the most stereotypical mlp name I've ever heard.
I mean, come on what kind of name is Fizzlepop Berrytwist.

I didn't hate the movie... but I didn't love it and I really wanted too.

Also was it me or was Twilight more like season 1 or 2 Twilight then season 7 Twilight?
