Patreon Commissions, and The Saga Continues · 12:53am May 24th, 2019
Hey, dudes. Golden here! I would understand if you didn't recognize me; it's been a little while since I've posted a blog. But with Chapter Three of Sunken Horizons due to publish tomorrow at 7500 words, I figured it was time to get back into the groove!
First up, to business for the impatient folk! I'm hoping to be able to keep up one chapter every week. This is, of course, a pretty lofty goal for me considering my chapters are only getting longer and I have a bit of a history of unreliable writing. But I don't want the release of SH to be plagued with random months-long breaks just because of my lack of discipline. This goes doubly so considering recent financial issues, but I do have my patrons to give me a little boost, and it is appreciated! As long as I can maintain momentum, we could see SH being done within six months, and that would be truly awesome.
Speaking of patrons, the idea has been floated to me a few times now to use my Patreon earnings to commission something in the name of the people. As to what that something might be, it's up to you! All patrons are invited to come down to the #merchant-fleet channel in the Discord and give their suggestions. Some ideas I've had so far is art of the Argo or Roc's Screech, or perhaps of one of the characters, maybe in a dive suit? It's your money, so ultimately nothing's off the table. Someone even brought up the suggestion of having a clopfic written in the setting!
Honestly I'm not sure if there's much to say here. Writing is progressing smoothly, I've got all of Act Two plotted out on both Twilight's and Rarity's sides (I really cannot wait to get it all out), and the discord has been super active lately! There's even a guy who's been writing songs for the setting, and damn they are dope! We're looking into getting them properly mastered and recorded and maybe uploading them somewhere. I look forwards to your comments on chapter three tomorrow!
