It only took me six years.
So, as of today, on the eve of my surgery, my first attempt at serious writing is no longer my longest story. Here's an out of context screenshot:
The scary part is, this isn't even halfway through what I've outlined. 
Yes, my resolution is a screen for ants. I write on a janky laptop whose only purpose is to serve as a mobile writing device that isn't a phone. I sacrificed my phone to Chris Wilson after BlizzCon 2018.

I ddin't have one when I started. By the time I was past the end of the story's first act, I knew how imperative it was to write one for the rest of the book. I'm not sticking to it like gospel, but it keeps me on track so I won't lose my handle on one of the ten-odd plot threads I've got going all at once.
Nothing wrong with a janky laptop. I have a Frankentop that I personally keep babying

I, too, know the joy of the janky writing-only laptop. It's great having something portable that doesn't have the processing power for distractions and gives me a full-size keyboard.
