It occurs to me that once someone visits a gofundme page to donate they might not return to read the updates. And I want EVERYONE to know just how much I appreciate them. So I am going to paste my latest update here, to reach as many people as possible.

March 30 ......My friends, fans, video collaborators and everyone who has helped me reach this goal in such an amazingly short time. I want to apologize for not getting this message out to you sooner. I have an excuse. I was working late last night, this morning before sunup and until after sundown. I do have an excuse. But... NO EXCUSE IS SUFFICIENT to delay my gratitude for what you have ALL done for me. With your help I have reached my set goal in only 3 DAYS! I consider this an amazing show, a truly amazing show of love and support from people all over the world. If I did not know what I meant to you before, there can be absolutely no doubt about it now. And you may have no doubts about the way I feel for you. I love each and every one of you. I have always had a close knit group of friends in my fandoms which I care dearly about. But now I see that it is a community much larger than I had thought; people that I had no Idea that I had touched came forward to support me through kind words as well as aiding in my expenses. My goal has been reached and it is YOU who have made that happen!

My surgery has been scheduled for this wednesday and then my healing can begin and it is all because of the love and kindness YOU have shown me. I can continue doing what I love because of YOUR efforts!

Let no one ever denigrate my friends or my fandoms within my earshot, ever. I encourage you to also not let that happen. We are an amazing group of friends throughout the world. So when you hear of something that casts a bad light on what you do remember WHAT YOU DID THIS DAY! You helped an old man live again and made him ever SO SO proud to be counted among you. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. May you all live wonderful and productive lives. I love you all. -Illya Leonov

And now a Post Script. Since I wrote that message I have had the surgery and just day before yesterday I got all the tubes and staples out and the doc is very pleased with my recovery. So once again THANKS! I quite frankly and truthfully could not have done it without you. Lovingly -Illya
