My Little Pony Season 9 News 04/04/2019 · 11:47am Apr 4th, 2019

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the final season of MLP! It has been two weeks since my previous blog about the series having been waiting for any particular stories worth talking about within a few days before the premier airs this Saturday. And fortunately to all the MLP fanatics just reading this now, I've managed to uncover four, I repeat FOUR upcoming titles for the series and plenty of which is connected to several screenshots I had discussed from several blogs ago. So now without further ado, let's dive in to some of the juicy gossip that's spreading all over town:

Common Ground

As suspected, Quibble Pants would be making his return to the series only this time he may need a little help from Rainbow Dash on a particular matter. It seems not only he's made a new 'special' friend as indicated by the picture above, but apparently he wants to bond with the daughter of said friend because she's a real 'sports' pony... Hence where Rainbow Dash comes in. And based on this brief bit of information, it seems easy to assume why this little filly in the picture would look up to Rainbow Dash, her being the one pony that Quibble can trust to help him get to know her better. It's a common situation we've seen with men who maybe are into a single lady (Or the other way around) but in order to get close to the person they love they'd have to bond with a child who up till then has been their whole world. What shenanigans may follow as a result of this bonding experience only time can tell, but hopefully this is where we see Patton Oswalt at his best.

She's All Yak

Now some folks had a bit of trouble figuring out what this image could mean, but I had my suspicions based on this 'tiny' clue in the picture there'd be a 'dance' going on. A 'pony' dance so to speak that's happening at the School of Friendship and yet out of all the ponies Sandbar could choose to ask... Interestingly enough, he decides to ask Yona to be his guest for this special occasion. But of course this story takes the 'struggle with identity' premise as Yona, seemingly unconfident with herself, decides to enlist Rarity's help for a makeover including changing her appearance and altering her usual personality (Given her tendency to smash things and the third person speech and all). Still, it's essential to note that Sandbar chose to ask Yona not because he expects her to act the way the ponies do but because out of all the friends he's made since the last season he wanted her to go with him. It's no surprise the moral of this story is the 'Be Yourself' method, a premise that has been orchestrated millions of times on different shows, but if this episode can prove itself to be entertaining enough for us to look past that common fact then I'd say it be good (Then again, whenever there's a 'Yak themed' episode, it can be a hit or miss depending on opinion).

Sweet and Smoky

No folks I'm not talking about a flavor of barbecue sauce based on this title (Though I'd see why some would think so), but if this picture is any indication the Mane Six are about to return to the Dragon Lands. Apparently Smolder has enlisted Spike, and ironically Fluttershy (Ooooh boy), because of several issues happening: Not only are we to discover she has a 'sensitive' brother (Considering most of the Dragons there are brutes or rude), but apparently some Dragon Eggs have not been able to hatch and we don't know why. Spike may not know much about hatching eggs (Even though he was born in one), as the only way he ever got out of his egg was through the use of magic unless that's not what the other Dragons want. Fluttershy... Let's not forget that she has a terrible fear of Dragons (Most of them), she wouldn't even watch the migration ordeal even at this point when more Dragons have come to the school (If anything this has been a longer wait than the 'Dragonshy' fan idea). Something is definitely going wrong with the eggs for sure, but we can also see the value of learning 'self confidence' especially if we are to learn more about Smolder's family (Never mind wondering if Spike actually has parents or if he's truly an orphan).

Frenemies

Now I don't exactly have an image to support this episode title, but we're definitely not seeing another Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust episode (Since Lightning Dust declared them frenemies for life). But if it's clear that Grogar's plan to enlist Sombra has failed (Whether he's been reformed by the ponies' magic or if he's destroyed for good), his plan to grow his Legion of Doom continues as they are on a mission to become 'allies'... Course that could mean anything. Now when we consider most of the villains on the show, the idea of them showing any value in 'friendship' is way out there but apparently the plan works too well and they are bonding better than Grogar hoped. Again I still barely know much about this former G1 villain, but if there's a last thing on his mind it's making friends as he wants to destroy any concept of that on the road to taking over Equestria. Which makes me worried about what this would mean with out villains or if Grogar may not be taken as seriously as we were hoping to do for him, but since we really haven't 'seen' what he's capable of or what character we can expect all we can do is hope that this turns out to be a better episode than given credit for.

Overall, these episode announcements confirm some of the rumors that were earlier established from the previous screenshots and further hinting of Grogar orchestrating his plans to take over Equestria. Again, we still do not know much about this version of Grogar, what he looks like or even who's going to voice him but if their plan was to keep us in the dark until the day we finally meet him then marketing wise they are doing the smart thing. Based on what I can imagine with these episodes, I would expect nothing less if they are fun little stories to get us rolling through the season or perhaps there may be one or two that gives a 'tug at the heartstrings' feel if they can manage to do so. It's too early to say if any of these episodes will turn out good or bad, but I will definitely aim to give them a chance the first chance I get.

And still the question remains: What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.
