The Stroke of Midnight: Cover Change · 11:06pm Mar 9th, 2019
So, when The Stroke of Midnight came out, the cover I used for it was one of my absolute favorite pictures of all time. It depicted an anthro Nightmare Moon doing a bit of a strip tease, although the focus of the pic (in my perverted, fetish-fueled opinion, anyway) wasn't on any assets that are traditionally scene as sexual. If you read the story early, you know what I'm talking about: those abs. Seriously, the first dozen or so times I've seen the pic, I didn't even realize she was removing her clothing with her magic because all of my attention was laser-focused on that killer six-pack.
Apparently, that pic was too saucy for FiMFic, so it got taken down. I'm not really upset, because naturally I, as a predominantly porn writer, am going to have a different, perhaps more laissez-faire idea of what constitutes as NSFW than a site moderator. I was just really bummed because, without a good image, a story doesn't even look finished, nevermind what that says about its quality (there are exceptions to that rule, and it's also a style/preference thing, I'm not trying to sneak diss anyone). It also happened at a pretty bad week for me, mentally and emotionally, so I never worked up the energy to appeal it or replace it or whatever.
Today, as I went about reorganizing my FiMFic page, I decided to replace it. And replace it, I have. This is a long-winded, unnecessarily mouthsome way of delivering information that a lot of you might not even care about. But, if you're the type of person who remembers story images more than titles (I know I sure do), it would be relevant to know that The Stroke of Midnight has new cover art.

It is what it is. I just find it kind of amusing that it was that story, easily one of my tamest, least offensive fics, that is the only instance of me getting into any sort of trouble with site staff. Not one of the rape, murder, or necrophilia stories. Just the one that showed a centimeter or two too much of Luna's hips.

Some people may think I was being facetious, but I genuinely did not notice any of the perceived partial nudity because I was too busy drooling over her abs.
Just thinking about those muscles, I think I'm coming down with a case of the vapors...
