Creating stories is the only thing I have left where I feel like I add value to the world.

Happy birthday CoN! · 9:16pm Feb 12th, 2019

It has now been one year since I started writing on Chronicles of Nathaniel. I started out this journey with simply wanting to have my third idea for a story published. After the first chapter was written and the story was published I expected to go back to writing one my two other stories ('Lux: Warrior of Shadows' and 'MLP Fim: Reborn and Retold') but I decided to put them on hold.

One, because Warrior of Shadows needed heavy rewrites and the plot needed to be thought through more.

Two, because there was something particular about Nathaniel I just enjoyed.

It might just have been the fact that CoN was quickly getting better feedback and more likes than my other stories, but I stuck with it. Now I am writing on chapter 28 of this 200+ k words adventure with a clear vision of my ending. The story has changed a bit as I've been writing it, for example I am uncertain how well I've managed to implement the main theme of the story. The original ending and final chapters would have had this theme at the forefront, but with one change I altered the entire path of Nathan's story. I'll probably talk more about what I was going to do after the epilogue is posted and I've started on the character index.

Another part of CoN I've tried to bild up is a connection with some of my key characters. I didn't want the one-dimensional friendships many fanfics have and I hope my portrayal of Rose and Osiris was good enough for you all. Since this is my first long term writing project I may have messed up at a few places, especially with the grammar, but I hope to learn from those mistakes to become a better writer. I know anyone can improve given enough time and I hope I'll give you all many more stories to come after CoN.

I won't lie however, CoN has drained a lot of my time. I love writing on the story, but as I turned 18 last month (yay) it means my days of mostly freedom is almost over. There will be a point when I may be unable to write for months in the future and I'm not happy about that but I've accepted it. Until that day comes however I'll fix up WoS (Warrior of Shadows) to the same standard I hold for all new chapters of CoN. I will also publish a sequel to Chronicles of Nathaniel in the future, but what it will be about is yet unclear. I have many ideas which will probably become stories however, so this isn't the end of Nathan's part of the universe.

And while I'm mentioning universes I might as well mention my general idea for the three stories I'm making. What currently CoN and MLP Fim: R and R have in common is that they both have mentions of other universes and even sights of such things. After I saw the Displaced multiverse group I felt inspired to try out creating my own multiverse. So far I only have my own three characters, Lux, Nathan and Locus. But I hope to one day inspire someone enough to write a story set in this multiverse or in one of my own canon universes, like CoN.

But these are future plans for when I've managed to write enough on MLP Fim: Reborn and Retold to actually set up the Nexus. I have already mentioned the Nexus in CoN in the very early stages of the story that probably didn't make sense to a lot of people. I will explore this realm more in Reborn and Retold from the perspective of one of its guardians. But that's enough about the future.

Happy birthday CoN and thank all of you for giving this story almost 150 likes and almost 2k views. I couldn't be happier with the feedback you've given me and if you ever wanna chat just hit me up in those DMs. I am willing to talk (especially about that whole 'stories set in the CoN universe' thing.) and I always have my door open.

But as I've already stated: Thank you, all of you.
