My 1st Live-Action Inspiration for How I View the Storm King, as Well as Keep Him in Character · 2:41pm Feb 11th, 2019

Has anyone ever wondered what my inspirations for how I often view the Storm King are? As well as for how to approach “A King’s Grand Entrance” and what to model it after?

Well, that’s why I made this post. To show you guys what one of my inspirations is.

Take a look:

The reason this video inspires me is because, among other things, I always thought that the Storm King was like that of a crime lord, the terrorist and businessman-type. A killer as well. And here, Michael Clarke Duncan’s Kingpin inspired me, because he too represents that type of villain, and he too has a very smooth and calm sort of personality, with a dark sense of humor on the side. I have a feeling that Liev Schreiber’s Kingpin is going to inspire me on this as well. This clip (despite having not seen the whole Director’s Cut of this film yet) was also one of my inspirations for my story, because I wanted to make it like a villain introduction, where we could also explore him some.

What do you guys think?

For me, The Storm King in general was hardly what I call my 'favorite' villain and if anything it felt like Tempest Shadow was the main villain. If one can bear with me on the matter, there are reasons why I've had my doubts on The Storm King in general:

His on-screen time was very brief giving us little time to know him (Especially for fans who didn't read his stories in the comics or confirm if they were even canon), joke villains are not usually my cup of tea (Unless they are minions which I don't mind as much), and he barely has a motivation aside from a desire for power.

What I will admit in regards to your work surrounding the character in general, in an attempt to justify his means in the movie, is how you attempt to go into depth with his mindset to grant fans a better understanding. And while I was just okay with the 'Daredevil' movie, I will admit the betrayal of the Kingpin is definitely something I could see him acting and credits to Mr. Duncan on the way he portrayed the character (God rest his soul). And it makes sense to compare The Storm King with the Kingpin as he's been symbolic to the corporate industry, his actions leading to his desire for higher power or popularity or to satisfy his greed so to speak. In a way the movie was a subtle way to poke fun at 'Hasbro' in regards to whatever decisions were made not just for the film but the series in general, how most of it was made to promote their toys.

Just wait till the remake of 'Child's Play' comes out, but that's a bit off topic.
