    IN WHICH HAPPY BOXING DAY!
I meant to post while it was still Christmas (CST) but as usual I’m late. I hope my few remaining readers had a lovely holiday! Here’s a song that’s been in my head lately.

Chuu is one of those who, according to her coworkers, really is just a ball of sunshine. Follow me past the jump.

    IN WHICH I LACK BURRITOS
No, really. I haven’t been by my local burrito place in a long time, partly due to my mother, so I haven’t been able to get good inspiration for another Burritoverse story. Sorry. For now, enjoy my favorite J-Pop group NiziU.

    IN WHICH SCREW DEADLINES
Hey, y’all. Been a few months. Whoever reads this, just wanted to show I’m not dead yet. Do you know NMIXX? You should.

Right. Now, where was I? Oh, I’m sure I’ll figure it out below the jump.

IN WHICH I LIED TO YOU (SORRY)
So… Turns out it's been a full year (!) since my last story. I promised a couple stories in between but failed to finish them. But at least I got my annual Mayor Mare story in. Have some Twice as penance.

More past the jump, if you're willing.

IN WHICH I LIVE… SORT OF
Hi. Been awhile. Not sure who's left to read this. I just now realized I accidentally added an "L" on my last 3 posts. Oops. Well, enjoy Sir Elton.

So, after fixing my screw-up, let's get to the meat of why I'm writing, if you'll pass the jump with me.

IN WHICH IDEAS SWIRL
I realized a couple nights ago I have a story deadline coming up. So here's some fitting music.

Never sorry. Anyway, if you'll please join me past the jump…

As many of my readers know, every January 20th to commemorate of the anniversary of the very first story I ever posted to this site, I write a new Mayor Mare fic. This year will be my fifth. I spent some of Thursday night and the past hour spitballing ideas. Normally by now I've either finished the story or close to it, so I'm running a bit behind this year.

I think I've found an idea I can work with. Chances are it'll piss people off again, because everyone's favourite Equestria Prime Minister Chancellor Orangeglow is set to make his triumphant return. Well, if I lose followers, I'm just gonna post the "Erryday" video again when the count gets back to 420.

Also, it's gonna be T-rated.

Work has been progressing on my historical adventure fic from three years ago that I decided to finally complete. Eight of nine chapters plus the prologue have been edited and "locked in". All I have left to do is the final chapter and the epilogue. Of course that last chapter is by far the longest, so no clue when it'll be ready. Once it is, I'll let y'all know. Most likely I'll upload a chapter a day. So, look forward to that.

As I lay here in my bed watching old Sakura Gakuin livestreams, I realized that for my Babymetal parody story (that will not be uploaded here since it has nothing to do with Pony), I need to have Momoko Okazaki make a cameo. As far as the public knows, she's studying abroad. As my story takes place in Massachusetts, which recently legalized recreational weed, why not have Momoko (name will be changed) become a pot-head even though she'll still be <21 at the time the story takes place? The story specifically takes place in Boston and moves up through Cambridge, Salem, and Marblehead. Momoko was going to college in Amherst, dozens of miles inland, but went to visit Aiko in Cambridge.

And for some reason, whenever she's high she speaks perfect English… but only English, which confuses her Japanese friends, so poor Aiko -- who was already set to cameo in the story and really does have some knowledge of English -- has to translate for any characters who don't speak it.

Part of me feels like I should feel guilty about taking these nice Asian girls, some of whom are currently underage (but won't be in 2021 when the story is set), and throw them into a miasma of jokes about sex, drugs, and rock-&-roll. Same with creating gag subtitles for an episode of FRESH. I really shouldn't "translate" these 13 to 15 year old girls or their teacher saying highly inappropriate things. But I just can't help myself. I crack jokes at that which I love.

I also am happy to slam things which I very much do not love, like Orangeglow. I hope soon I'll be able to get to the story in my brain that chronicles the last days of his humanoid counterpart, who has been dead for almost two years real-time.

Anywho, part of me wants to keep writing, but the rest of me just wants to fall asleep. I'll take option 2 please.

Peace out!

Anyone who decides to unsubscribe from you over a story can get fucked. I'm also like 1/3 of the way through chapter 7 of my fanfic.

Orangeglow is kind of a lightning rod and I'm not very good at "staying neutral" or "avoiding bias". Even so, I'm rarely one to delete comments unless they're…

  1. Inappropriate - like the time I deleted an R-rated comment from an E-rated story (I thought the comment in question was funny as hell, but rules are rules)
  2. Spam - like that kid who kept demanding I write a story about his OC; or
  3. Really Annoying - one Orangeglow story's comment section devolved into two readers having a political argument and I got sick of it, so after a couple days I exercised my prerogative

A certain writer I respect but is also known for being prickly got onto me for killing off Orangeglow because he was and is such an easy target. This writer was right, as he usually is when he critiques me. But, in my defense, OG's death wasn't a one-off joke, even if it started that way. It gets brought up again and again in my EQG stories.

Yeah I totally get what you're saying! :D I thought it was fine because even deaths have ramifications.
