Thing a Week (put off) · 5:22am Dec 7th, 2018
So, I'm driving in my car today, listening to some music and totally thinking about writing some more. Cause, you know, haven't done that in a little bit. (Still working on the finale for Fleeting Light though, so don't worry about that if you opened this hoping for news on it.)
I'm listening to my Jonathan Coulton Pandora station in particular, and I notice the song is from one of his "Thing a Week" albums. For those of you not familiar with him, JoCo is a musician who decided to release one song a week for an entire year to his website, in order to keep his creative juices flowing (and also generate buzz, but that's not quite important here). I thought "gee, I need a way to keep writing and feel stupid enough to impose a challenge on myself."
So, starting the first week of January I will be posting, in a compilation story, one story a week. These will most likely be one-shots, based on various prompts I find, think of, or feel like doing. They will vary a lot in length, and subject matter (but will have tags listed in the chapter titles, so no worries if there's content you're not sure about wanting to read), and I'll probably choose whether or not to stop if things are getting too daunting at any moment (though I'll try and do an update post and re-evaluation every three months). Also, you may just not see anything a certain week, and I'll be sure to post a blog about it.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to giving it a try, and hope you all enjoy it if you read any of it.
Edit: If you're reading this after the fact, I've been a lot busier with some other things than I thought. I still plan to do this, but I won't be starting for a while.
Oh, neat. What a cool idea!
I look to forward to more horsewords!
