Ponyville Ciderfest - Horror and Horses · 4:00am Nov 7th, 2023
Now that the schedule has been released, I can announce that—in addition to providing a few stories for the convention's Interactive Storytelling event—I will be hosting a panel at Ponyville Ciderfest. It is my first panel too. I am extremely nervous, but also excited.
On Saturday, November 18th, from 10:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M., I will be hosting Horror and Horses: A Fandom's Fascination. Below is the summary I submitted:
With Friendship is Magic filled to the brim with colorful and cute ponies, comedic escapades, and lessons about friendship, why do members of the fandom continue to write its characters into horrifying scenarios and tales of the macabre? Join Flashgen as he explains his thoughts on horror, its varied subgenres, and the hows and whys of its prevalence in the fandom.
I hope those that attend enjoy it. I've always wanted to host or see a horror panel at a pony convention and I'm so glad mine was selected.
I will also once again be selling copies of A Fleeting Light in the Darkness at the convention's bookstore.
