Since the story will be starting soon, I figured I should show you which characters will be in the focus of this story. If you read "The Legend of Friendship" all the way until Season 4, then you should recognize at least one character here.
This one you should know. It's Summershine. He is the one who is always traveling through Equestria in a gray hood. However, he looks a little bit different in "The Legend of Friendship - Harmony". He will serve as the main character of the story.
Now the rest of the characters here, you will meet in the story but if you are interested, here are the rest of the main characters.
Brilliance
A librarian pony with strange hobbies and a lack of social skills, who lives in the Golden Oak Library. She rarely shows emotion, or rather, doesn't know how to show them but she is always ready to improve that with the knowledge that she got from her books.
Crash
A stallion who gets easily excited and likes to pull pranks on others. He likes to make his friends laugh and likes to laugh as well but sometimes he goes a little overboard without noticing it. Despite that, he cares greatly for his friends. He has really fast and sudden mood shifts.
Happytrade
A business pony who likes to make money to live a luxuries life. She likes to make the most money out of her trades but she also tends to do it on a fair base so that she won't feel bad about it. She gets easily offended by the smallest things.
Lightbeam
A very cheerful and carefree, but also naive Pegasus mare who loves to make new friends. Despite being a Pegasus, she rather lives on the ground because of her love for nature. If she doesn't get what she wants, then she tends to act very childishly.
Nightsky
A weather pony who can fly at an incredible and almost unmatched speed. He is the older brother of Lightbeam, who he puts above all else and is very protective of. At first, he might come off as cold and mean, but he actually is very friendly, polite and couldn't hurt a fly.
Now what purpose those ponies will serve in the story is something that you have to find out sooner or later.
I highly advise you to read this upcoming story if you are interested about some more important things about "The Legend of Friendship" since this story will be rather important for upcoming events.
I don't know how long the story will end up being but it should be around twenty chapters or a little more at best.

So what will the story be about?

The story will take place before the events of "The Legend of Friendship" and explain some things that are, so far, left unanswered.
It will also be similar to "Friendship is Magic" in a way. There will be many Slice of Life chapters that will focus on the daily life of those ponies.
This story is also supposed to be a setup for some events in the future.
It's kinda like a bigger backstory for the "The Legend of Friendship" even though it is not really necessary to read "The Legend of Friendship" in order to understand what will be going on in this story (It is recommended though, because you are intended to read it after the events of Season 4).
I know this is a pretty vague answer but I have a lot of surprises planned for this story so sorry
