Outcast - Second Contact, free on Humble Bundle.

Don't usually like to talk about the humble bundle ones since I feel they've got a few more hoops to jump through then any Steam giveaway, but this one cough my eye. Never finished the original since it was such an infamous resource-hog, but I do remember my jaw frequently dropping at the graphics.

I mean, just look at this:

That's from the 1.1 version that came out a few years ago, but still. That's how that game looked in 19-freakin-99.

And from what I heard? The remake's pretty decent, so be sure to check it out if you like sci-fi games.
