Should I reboot my Lab Horse series? · 7:24am Nov 18th, 2018
Looking at where the story is at this point, all I can say is that between it and Shattered Rainbow taking place in the same universe, at the same time, it'd be pretty hard to actually get back to updating either story.
The plots of both stories are completely unplanned and quite messy, with the Lab Horse series actually being made mostly of filler material, and lacking a central plot ever since the end of Space Horse.
Shattered Rainbow, on the other hand, would've worked out much better as a standalone one-shot, instead of being shoehorned into the Lab Horse canon like it currently is.
So then, should I wipe the slate clean and start with a fresh new version of Lab Horse? Most of the characters will be the same, or only moderately changed either in personality, appearance, or both.
I mean, heck, it's been long enough now since I was truly active in either story that I've decided that it's been long enough to begin re-using OCs from the stories, most notable being Gadget's human form, Zoey, who is a newly-introduced supporting character in Pony-Me.
But seriously. I still like the Pony-on-Earth idea behind Lab Horse, but it'd be a nightmare to just drop in where I left off and begin writing again.
Heck, I'm thinking of bringing back "I Think I Summoned a Ponk." back with a reboot as well. The sequel(s) all went down the drain no matter what I did, and I think it'd be best to just start fresh instead of trying to patch up the damage I did during the whole "Equestria Forever" craze of story merging.
