”Heeeeeeyyyyyy, Fyrie, how ya-*hic*- doin’?”
“Muse . . . are you dru-”
“Naaah! Don’ be shilly! Why woulds I be durnk? Drunk! Drunk?”
“You’re drunk.”
“Nah, nah, nah! ‘m not. Not drunk. Hey, you know what, I’m feeling SUPER edgy right now. . . . Hey, I know! Let’s write a grimdark!”
“But . . . we both agreed that was something that needed to be done carefully and be well thought out.”
“Pphhbt! Buck that noise! It’s almsot Halloween! Let’s get dark!”
===Present Day===
“What have you DONE?!”
“Exactly what you TOLD me to do!”
“I was bucking drunk! WHY would you listen to a drunk!? WHY?!”
“Okay, you know what, calm down, Muse! It’s all okay!”
“What?! How is this okay?! This piece of crap . . . look at it! It’s falling apart at the seems! It has no cohesion, the characters are all over the place. . . it’s like you were trying to write three different stories at once and cram them all into seven thousand words or less!!!”
“Well, maybe if my muse wasn’t completely smashed for the last three weeks, that wouldn’t’ve happened, huh?”
“This is not my fault!”
“Calm down! It’s gonna be alright!”
“How?! This thing is actually doing worse than ’Trigger me, Starlight’! I didn’t even think that was POSSIBLE!”
“Simple, my sweet Musey. . . I have a plan.”
“. . .”
“Please, save your applause and awed gasps.”
“We’re doomed.”
Tell you what, fyren. Go look at my story with the least likes. Then go to some of the other authors and their stories with the least likes. We all have stories that thank. If you only have two then you are doing better than most. I actually at one time had to erase all the stories I had on this site, because I saw how badly they sucked. I mean, one of them actually turned me into a newton for a bit, but I got better. So relax and move on. Breath, and for future reference, always listen to muse, ESPECIALLY when she's smashed, you might come up with something completely new.

Thank you, for the words of wisdom, Minaren. You are right of course, I know that not every story I write is going to go over well. I just put so much time and effort in to it. . . That said, though, you're right about something else, as well:. ALWAYS listen to Muse. In spite of her bad reaction and admonitions to the contrary, if I hadn't listened to her and tried this, I wouldn't have learned several valuable lessons. Nor would have had the sudden burst of inspiration to move on to. . . Well. You'll just have to wait and see about that.
