These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

Terror from the Deep was the evil stepchild of the XCOMs. I rather play the original and Apoc (as well as the modern ones).

I'd be more worried about repeated squad wipes coming to the story, that game was vicious...
Although maybe not as vicious as Apoc early game if you play turn based mode... I think Poppers become the hardest enemy of the entire series.

The problem with Terror from the Deep is that not only is it a punishingly difficult game...but even if you win, you lose.
In the ending you destroy the ancient colony ship at the bottom of the ocean the aliens were coming from...but said explosion not only kills any surviving squad members, but also rips the planet a new one, rendering it mostly uninhabitable, which is why humanity is down to one mega-city in Apocalypse. So, congrats you win...at the cost of most of everything you were fighting for.

I do wonder if Hasbro hadn't fumbled the ball and the series continued on it's original path just how dark would it have gotten for humanity. Lets face it, in Apoc we took on a backwater colony world on a recon mission, that group existed across multiple universes.
