SRMTHFCG! Episode 4 is done, here's what happened during writing process. · 2:39am Sep 28th, 2018
I finally got around to finishing Episode 4, there were some scenes I had to cut and some I decided to add, such as the opening scene with Fluttershy going to the Super Robot, yeah the chapter was going to start at Trixie's show and progress from there but I felt like The Monkey Team didn't really have a reason to be there other than "They had nothing better to do after their patrol." and I wanted an in-universe reason why Fenneca would interact with them more outside of the whole "They are her bodyguards" thing as well disguising my blatant wish fulfillment with this entire story.
I'm not kidding, Fenneca is a carefully crafted character and someone important to the plot but she kinda is my ideal power fantasy, someone with powers who uses them for mundane, everyday stuff. My power fantasy is being able to cook or do some gardening, something practical that helps people I care about, something I can do as opposed to just sitting on my arse all day twiddling my thumbs or just offering words of encouragement.
Anyway the original idea was that the Alicorn Amulet would have corrupted Trixie, she would have held a magic show, use an Age Spell on Chiro turning him into either a little kid or a baby, summoned an Ursa Minor and... electrocute it to attack Ponyville instead of herself. Fenneca would babysit Chiro, advise the Monkey Team to not hurt Trixie and instead target the amulet while Fluttershy, after hearing the baby star bear roar in pain, coaxes it back to its mother before a pissed off Ursa Major descends upon Ponyville.
I felt like the animal abuse would have been a bit too dark.. plus that and the implications of using magic on a minor without their or their guardian's consent was too evil, too soon for a brainwashed Trixie that's only had the amulet for a short while. I am trying to balance the tone of both cartoons here.
So Trixie is going to go and gather power or fans... or something, probably both and set up a base in the middle of nowhere for the group to find later, who knows. Either way, Trixie is evil now, yay.
