Wing-Man - a new story, discussion. · 2:28am Sep 18th, 2018

Way back in March, I made a blog post talking about a story idea that I had called "Wing-Man" - about a pony who, after an experiment gone wrong, gains superpowers, and fights crime, but also has to deal with keeping his friends and identity safe.

After literally forever, I decided to take the idea and turn it into a story. I currently have three chapters done, and am planning to do it in a similar fashion to After in terms of Acts. The goal is to separate it into bursts of ten chapters per act. One chapter published a week, between 1000-3000 words. Also, since we're on the topic of Acts, that'd be a cool idea as a UI system for the site, for people who write chapters that way; color-coating chapters that are part of one act or arc one way, and color-coating chapters that are part of another.

Here is the description for it:

Lightning Flash is the average stallion, and in his case of friends, Twilight Sparkle's average test subject. But when the latest experiment goes awry, he finds himself gifted with super-pony strength, speed, agility, and reflexes. Together, he becomes Wing-Man, a crime-fighting pony dedicated to protecting the citizens of Equestria.
However, when villains become aware of his presence, they work to stop his deeds for good! Will he destroy the evil that hunts him, or will the bad guys come out on top? Can he balance his crime-fighting identity and his normal life, or will his secret cost him everything he holds dear?

Now the average red flag these days is the notice of an OC. Back in 2012, you see, these were typically okay, but now, an OC is guaranteed to ensure that a story crashes harder than a SpaceX rocket. It'll lose traction faster than the Stock Market in 1929. The interest will sink faster than the Titanic. You see where I'm going? (Did I also mention I love to hate myself sometimes?)

Anyway, I took the concept poster I uploaded back in March and made some tweaks to it, so here's the story's cover.
