A Week Till... And a Small Update on Writer's Block. · 10:28am Sep 16th, 2018
Well, it's seven days till my birthday and nothing has exploded or tried to kill me yet. So far, so good; hopefully the 23rd comes and goes without incident... I'm possibly going to be going away just before and just after; I have a wedding to take part in on the 21st to the 22nd, and on the 24th, my dad is coming up from Hawaii. Busy busy busy...
I am also going to use this blog to apologize again. I don't know what's up with me and my writing. I was hoping it was something that I could just force my way through it, but that didn't work; I just couldn't find the motivation to write, despite pressuring myself. I think this goes deeper than a rough couple of weeks... I promise to get out a chapter soon, but I doubt it'll be consistent. I'm annoyed with myself for that, but I don't know what else to do, other than keep pushing and waiting.

Thanks. I have a strange history of things going horrifically wrong just before or on the day of my birthday. So far, no terrible things have happened, so that's good.

Eh, I don't know about that video. He's got a good premise, but he's also wrong. A need for perfection isn't the only cause for writer's block; he's being too narrow in his explanation. Depression, lack of ideas, other projects cluttering your mind; there's tons of reasons for someone to develop a block - a desire for perfection being a common one. I don't much care about perfection in a new story, because I know I'll likely edit it as I go. My reason for the block is more cerebral, I think...
I know I should't have, but I laughed when I read this.
Life is like that, hopefully things will not go horribly wrong for you this time.
I hope that you enjoy the wedding and the visit from your dad, i also hope that you can overcome your writers block. It sucks
