Ladies and gentlemen... it's finally back.

The preparations are complete and the years long hiatus has been lifted. It's finally time to put The Masks We Wear back into the story rotation. I resolved to start this story up again for the new year and that's exactly what I aim to do starting with this new chapter.

Still have some motivation and inspiration left to keep writing, but...

It's been shifted over to another story for the time being—specifically, Sparkle. I've been thinking about that particular cliffhanger a lot lately, and I figured it was about time I got back to it. I'm about 1,800+ words into the final chapter of Episode VII and hope to be done by next week. I do have an IRL job so we'll have to see, but here's hoping.

New chapter of Survivor's Guide releasing tomorrow morning.

Just what it says on the tin. Running out of steam a bit so this might be the last one for while, but again, we'll see. No guarantees. Never any guarantees.

    Except for this.

This next chapter release is a guarantee.

I'll even give you a time frame.

Chapter will be out around 8:00am MST or 3pm UTC.

Work Update #15 · 3:02pm Sep 8th, 2018

So some of you may have noticed the odd lack of consistency in my updates lately. Well, I'm here to tell you that it isn't due to anything important, barring Labor Day anyway. I've simply been... distracted.

I haven't been feeling all that well, and that's been sapping my motivation a bit, but it's mostly just due to the fact that I've recently gotten into a fic I started reading and I'm having a difficult time putting it down. (here's the fic if you're curious).

Other than that, yeah... no excuses here. I'm still trying to post everyday, but I've taken to splitting half of the writing during the morning and the rest at night. This is during my work days, though. On weekends it's business as usual.

Sorry about that, but when I get into something, I kind of get obsessive about it (which is why I'm able to write so goddamn much in the first place). Anyhow, the next chapter of ASGtGE will be out sometime tonight, and it's... well... you'll see. :trollestia:

First of all, how did I miss that story? Just read the summary and I’m already into it. Next thing is your stories are GOOD. While I can’t speak for others, I must say that I can very much wait for updates. I really don’t want to be the person who whips creators demanding content. Take your time, you can just say your “refining” your stories.

Alright then! See you sometime next month? That's, quite a word count there...

Oh no, I'm still writing. My priorities have just been skewed because I can't pull myself away from this story. I've actually had this story in my eBook app for awhile now, and was already about a third of the way through it when I picked it back up again recently.

I burned through the rest of it over the course of the last few days and am already about two thirds of the way through the sequel currently. Then there's the third sequel which is still being updated by the author and is about 155k-ish words long at the moment.

It's a very good story... and also very much written by a British author if the many British terms used in the story are anything to go by.

I may have to take a look. political intrigue/destabilization isn't usually my cup of tea, can you give me a brief spoiler-free explanation? I am, of course, obligated to finish anything I start, and even I can't just eat 700K words overnight...

There's not much more to it than what the description says honestly. Twilight, Trixie, Octavia, and Fleur are sent to Mareitania and start a rebellion against the oppressive duchy with Twilight as the leader, picking up many allies and enemies along the way.

What grabbed me personally was the brilliant pacing, character development, and the fact that the story frankly has some of the most organic dialogue I've ever read.

Well if it's organic dialogue you want, Horse Feathers - A tale from the Humans Acting Villainous verse , by Lord Of Dorkness has that in spades. Regrettably, it has been on hiatus for, awhile now, but what's there is pure silver. And it has some of the best "you suck" speeches I've ever read. One in particular is absolutely haunting in it's implications.

i'm sorry (no I am not) for trying to add yet more things to your reading list.

Alas, I have not finished even the first book in the Dresden Files series, much to my roommate's aggravation. I may have to abstain from this one for awhile, but it's in my tracking list nevertheless.
