I Came Back To Post One Little Thing, Then I'll Leave Again

I had mentioned before that a book called The Last Centurion had largely read like an opposite day prophecy about 2020. I thought I'd mention a little factoid about the book, due to recent events. Scroll down for a spoiler.

I Deleted My Last Blog Post... Again

Not over racism this time, but because what should have been a forum for civil discussion about the debate had quickly become extremely uncivil. I stopped it before I had to ban anyone, but I've learned my lesson. I'm going to stop trying to discuss politics on my blog, because it is clear to me now that not even Bronies are capable of civil, rational discussion of politics in 2020, and that

I Want To Get This Off My Chest

I keep seeing people posting stuff about how "The virus isn't going away, viruses never go away, you guys just need to deal with it".

Here's some straight truth for you guys.

And here's a link where I cite my sources about SARS.

I Deleted My Most Recent Blog Post

Seeing what the discussion in the comments was turning into, I opted to simply delete it over deleting some of the posts I saw on it. While political discussion is one thing, racism is not something I'll stand for. Have a good Labor Day Weekend, everyone.

I've Got A Book I Want To Discuss With You Guys

Alright. The book in question is called The Last Centurion, By John Ringo. He's actually a sci-fi author whose novels I've read and enjoyed. The Last Centurion isn't so much a sci-fi novel as it is a Twenty Minutes Into The Future Near-Apocalypse Military Campaign tale. The story takes place in a supposed near future where a combination of a mini-ice age and a global pandemic strikes the

Sorry for being out of contact so long. · 4:32am Sep 3rd, 2018

This really really hasn't been the best year. I was able to fix that problem I has with Hollow Knight, thank goodness, and beat that game :moustache:. I've got a few other games I'm wanting to play and beat, but that's neither here nor there. Here's what is: Over the last month and a half, my youngest dog has been through the ringer. He suddenly got an abscess on his belly the size of an egg. One a big dog, this would be worrying. On a fifteen pound dog, this is downright terrifying. We took him in to the vet to get it drained. That went alright, although the pooch was miserable for several days because they had to leave the drain in. After they took it out, a few days later, instead of closing up, it started leaking puss. We took him back to the vet, and the vet did surgery to see what was going on.

Alright, who knows what a foxtail is? I'll tell you: It's a type of grass with seeds that have an arrow-like shape. They have a bad habit of getting caught in dog hair, and will process to burrow in, first through fur, and then through flesh. Once they burrow into something important, it usually kills the dog in question. This particular seed had carved a tunnel almost to the colon area, and once it breached that, the poor pup would have suffered from septic shock very quickly and died. After 45 minutes of surgery (And the vet charged by the minute), her got all of it out (we hope), and our dog ended up with a new drain and a scar as long as my middle finger. So, we've had a lot of worries lately... and we're $1500 dollars in debt with the vet. Yay.

So, I really haven't been in the right mood to write, either fanfiction-wise or otherwise. Sorry to keep you all waiting. Once things clear up with my pup, I'll see what I can whip up.

I totally understand. Real life is more important than this. Live and be happy.

Wait, the vet charged by the minute?! That's so weird! Was it a weekend/emergency call?

Wow, your dog has been through the ringer. I’m glad he’s OK. Oh wait that’s the exact phrase you used. I guess because it fits.

damn dude hope things improve

OMG, poor pup! Wish him heath and quick recovery!
And for you I wish money.

You've been caught up in that game too? I'm pretty sure I'll remain hooked until ALL the cheevs are mine, PLUS seeing what the heck is behind that blue door in Godhome!

No need to apologize, pets are family.:ajsleepy:

Wow, that's rough. My cat had an abscess on his face, but there were no life threatening monster plants to worry about. Seriously, what reason would it even have to evolve that?

take your time, dogs are family, and family is more important

You said "foxtail" and i was like, "oh, s:fluttershbad:t." Foxtails are rampant where i live, and if you talk to anyone(including me:fluttercry:) they will tell you about the pets that foxtails have killed, or forced someone to put a dog or cat down, cause they couldnt afford surgery.

As someone whose doggo (a Schnoodle) is currently 3 years past the average expiration date for his breed, blind, going deaf, and probably going to have to be given the Emperor’s Mercy within the next year, you have my utmost sympathy and all of my prayers.

Would you be willing to accept donations to help out? Or is that a little uncouth of me? You are one of my favorite authors on here, and while I am sure we dont really know each other, I know I would be willing to give some money to help... Just a thought.

I wish you luck. ^. ^

I'm sorry your dog had to suffer so much, and over something you normally wouldn't even think about! (I have heard of Spanish needle grass that can sew itself into the lips and tongues of cattle and burrow into sheep.) I'm glad he's doing better. Where do you live, if you don't mind me asking?
