Well, that's amusing... · 7:53am Aug 14th, 2018
Apparently, what I really needed to do to share my stories with as many people as possible was take my favoritest of all favorite ships within my favoritism (seriously, I traditionally don’t ship fictional characters at all, but in their case I do), and then freaking shoot one of them!
Honestly, I was just minding my own business, writing out a mage duel between multiple master-level mages on a dying world, and suddenly...
Brain: I say, Coyote old chap?
Me: Yes, dear Brain, oh ever-present bosom companion of mine?
Brain: Do you happen to recall that favoritest of all favorite ships you have, perchance perhaps?
Me: Why, yes, Brain, with your help, I most certainly do. Pray tell, old bean, why do you ask?
Brain: SHOOT SCI-TWI LOTS!!!
Me: Oh, nasty, unscrupulous Brain, whyfore do you think such diabolical thoughts??? No! Never! Well, maybe just a little...
Brain: Bwahahahahahahahahaha...!
Me:
Devil synapses. So, now I have four timelines. One comedy, two SoL / Adventure, and one SF (Story one almost finished).
I have also been getting (for me) record comments, upvotes, faves / bookshelves, and so forth, all of which means the world to me. Truly. I am not certain the decorum when one is getting lots of these things, but seriously, thank you all.
Meanwhile: in each continuity, I have super nifty crap sketched out in super awesome scenes that are gonna happen eventually that I just can’t wait to write, except that to make sure I get the details right I have to chew my way there first...
Linear time and I never were exactly friends.
Grr.
Oh, well. With any luck, I will have each of the four well and truly fleshed out by sometime next year. That’s when I’m hoping to start the crossover event.
Sometime again.
I'm well familiar with the feeling of having timelines diverge out from under me. And of serial "I told you that story to tell you this one" syndrome. Suffice to say, I feel your pain.
