Well everyone, after waiting so long to hear ideas from you all about an intermission chapter and getting that underway, I decided that just doing an intermission chapter for you all wasn't exactly enough. So! Here's a sneak peek of one of the future arcs, "Discovering The West!"
I never thought I would get this chance again. It'd been so long since I'd had a proper fight I'd almost forgotten the thrill. Watching everyone at the Festival almost made it unbearable, but now? Now that I was face to face with an honest to God Greek myth, a freaking hecatoncheire, I can easily say my battle maniac side was being quenched of it's thirst.
I back flipped out of the way of a salvo of rocks, then lifted Crimson and fired five three-round bursts into five different heads on the fifty headed giant. They all screamed in pain as their five brothers heads were popped like grapes, and I simply held my grin.
My Darkstriders, meanwhile, were firing their great arrows at the beast, but it simply caught them in a slew of it's hundred hands. My Legionaries were more successful in their efforts to slow the thing down, firing their rifles and piercing the giant's stone-like skin with ease, but they only managed to pierce it's two massive main arms because it raised them before they fired.
Seeing as the monster of legend wasn't going to go down easy, I decided I might as well play with my food for a bit.
"V, mind playing my fave for me?" I asked, twirling my gun in my hands. V sighed.
"Guardians," she said, but I could tell she was just messing around, and soon enough, my music started to play.
I tapped my foot to the beat, even patted my thigh as the music began, and all my soldiers and even the hecatoncheire looked at me in confusion.
As the singer said, 'Here we go, here we go,' I started to walk towards the giant, swinging my hips as I did for extra effect. As the singer said 'Bang bang', I lifted my gun and shot two three-round bursts at two different heads of the monster. More shots went off the more times the singer said 'Bang bang'. When they said, 'Won't stop 'till we're legends' I went crazy with my shots, firing nonstop at it's arms and legs. I didn't stop firing until they said, 'Here we go, here we go' again, and by then the hecatoncheire was weeping blood.
It let out a collective roar from all it's mouths, and rushed me. I smirked, walking towards it and still swinging my hips as I did. When the singer said, 'Bang bang' again, I fired twelve more shots at twelve different heads, the same amount of times the singer said bang. I reloaded quickly and then continued firing as they said 'Won't stop 'till we're legends' again. The giant roared and fell to the ground on it's knees as more and more of it's head were exploded.
I giggled. This was turning out to be a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
