    Cartography art!

    A cover-type image, by Ruirik.

    I may be replacing the current title image with this one in the near future!

    Drabble

    Pegasi had a belief. It gave way to tradition, then superstition, and finally to aphorism, but it grain of truth in it persists. That you can tell all you need about someone by the sound of their wings.

    Why is there no Changeling story called...

    "All Love Is Unrequited?"

    Anyway, it's been a while since I made a blog post for...various life reasons. This is mostly to check in and prove that I am not actually dead. Also that I have written some 25k words of original sci-fi in a month. I am hoping I can keep this up! And give you all a story with jovial insect aliens, sassy AIs, and a mystery.

    Ruirik did a lovely and adorable Christmasy Kree for no adequately explored reason and it's incredibly awesome!

Updates... · 1:26pm Oct 30th, 2012

Alas, my book is not doing so well (this isn't all that surprising really, but I was hoping for a little more response than I've gotten!). Not enough purchases/reviews/ratings for it to be featured anywhere I suppose.

But that does not deter me! I have started writing a sequel to Apotheosis. It's going to be a long while until there's anything worth seeing (I am a slow writer after all) but I figured I'd at least tell people I'm working on it.

Book has been purchased, and I am desperately counting down till the end of exams so I can start reading.

In the meantime, an Apotheosis sequel? Unexpected, but goddamn awesome.

Awwww, that sucks.:pinkiesad2:
Also, huzza! A sequel!

Apothesis sequel! :pinkiehappy: This makes me very excited!

Sorry to hear about your book, though. The reviews that are there suggest good world-building - I may give it a look at some point, well-built, original worlds are really important for me when I'm reading.

Not as a point I can purchase right now, but perhaps latter today. Don't worry, many authors don't make it big the first book they publish for sale. Outside the pony world you are relatively unknown, but I am sure if you keep at it, you will eventually get the recognition you deserve. :twilightsmile:

I am very excited for the apotheosis sequel :pinkiehappy:

That's sad to hear. But keep writing books, if the next one is more of my taste, I'm tempted to let it be shipped to me (I don't like e-books).

As for the sequel: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sequel to Apotheosis...YAY:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:
Sorry Bout' your book:fluttercry:

You wrote a book? Hold on, let me check that link.
...That book shall be read. I know not when or how, but it shall be read!

Now I just need to find time to read all the other books on my mile-long reading list. Catch 22, Atlas Shrugged, The Art of War, Through the Looking Glass, all 278 of those "Read Later" fics...

...This may take a while... :ajsleepy:

Anyway, a sequel to Apotheosis? :pinkiegasp:
Words have failed me. This site needs an emote of Twilight's "YESYESYES" dance... thing she does.

First part::pinkiesad2:
Second part::pinkiehappy:
That's all.:twilightsmile:

I liked your book... :unsuresweetie:

Huuum, I will see about mentioning it on Reddit. Maybe give it a boost through the subreddits there that would be interested in such things.

460738

That'd be awesome! I'm not really a part of the whole Reddit community myself, I'm afraid. I am not a very good community person...

460755

I mostly lurk on reddit, which is what I like about it.

I am at work right now, but tonight I will see about drumming up some interest for the Demon of Cliffside. :pinkiehappy:

Also, forgot to add: Sequel to Apotheosis? ALL OF MY YES! :rainbowkiss:

Sorry about your book. For what it's worth, I really liked it.

Apotheosis sequel? :twilightsmile::yay::pinkiehappy:

460759

Yeah, it looks like you need 20+ reviews before you start popping up on lists (unless you're, like, dragonlance or someone else of that nature)

460777

That shouldn't be too hard. A post to r/books and r/fantasy should generate enough purchases (considering you also reasonably priced it!) and reviews to hit that number.

I will also see about hitting up some of my old forum haunts for a few of the fantasy authors I read and see if anyone is interested there.

I would hate to see the amount of effort that went into this book not be recognized.

Just keep at it! I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure most authors don't "make it" on their first publication. :twilightsmile: Still, would'a been nice, hah.

And a sequel to Apotheosis? dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Sweetie_happy.png

Can't wait for the sequel.

Thoroughly enjoyed the book and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.

Sequel? Sounds good to me!

Sequel to Apotheosis? Awesome!

Got a copy of your book but haven't read it yet. (I think it's #8 on my to-be-read list.) Goodreads is a great site to promote your work. I will certainly leave a review there as soon as I finish it.

Yes, yes please, all of my yesses :twilightsmile:

If I actually had a kindle, I'd buy it and read it all night. I really like what I could read with the preview though.

And I've been waiting for a sequel to Apotheosis forever. Thank you so much!

You can get a free version of the Kindle reader for any platform. PC, Mac, mobile...

yay a sequal. i find my self thinking i am in the middle of a doctor who episode when i read apothesis or off the map. its so clever and original that it feels like something doctor who would do. THANKS BUNCHES!

And it just so happens that I didn't know that. I'll see what I can do now.

A sequel to my all time favorite Twiluna story? YES PLEASE!!!

I suppose I'll look into that book too, seems like a pretty interesting story.

If you have a reddit account, give this an upvote! If you don't, make one and give it an upvote!

Hopefully this might garner you a bit more attention. :pinkiehappy:

Fantastic! It might, it might not, but hey it's worth a shot! Thanks man!

And now, back to writing /shameless tease

462300

You are a mean, mean person. :unsuresweetie:

Also, good job on the plug as the author! :pinkiehappy:

We will see what comes of this. New topics and those subreddits are not that active compared to the main ones.

I will plug it to a few more people. Get them to take a look and write reviews if they buy it.

Apotheosis is a very good story, so this is good news for me, even if I feel bad that it starts with bad news for you.

Good luck with your self-published book. It can be hard to get exposure without anyone backing you, but you're talented enough to deserve it.

JAG

Woah, the Apotheosis has been doubled? Well, that's my day made, right there. Epic Twiluna that's actually good doesn't come along often, in my experience. Can't wait.

Apotheosis...Sequel?

Maybe you could contact the Humble Bundle people about getting it featured in a future E-Book version (they already one before.) It's worth a shot.

Sadly I have a 3-month exclusivity thing with Amazon. It's a great idea after that though...not that Cliffside is well-known enough to be an incentive for the humble ebundle :twilightsheepish:
