    Tradition

This one's particular poignant. Singing this on January 1 is a twelve year tradition at this point.

    So fun facts
    1) Did you know you don't have to be epileptic to have seizures?
    2) and if you have a seizure lasting longer than five minutes you just straight out have a 20% chance of dying in the next thirty days, apparently

Two Martyrs Fall for Each Other

Here’s where I talk about this new story, 40,000 words long and written in just over a week. This is in no way to say it’s rushed, quite the opposite; It wouldn’t have been possible if I wasn’t so excited to put it out. I would consider A Complete Lack of Jealousy from All Involved a prologue more than a prequel, and suggested but not necessary reading.

    Commissions Open: An Autobiography

Commission rates $20USD per 1,000 words. Story ideas expected between 4K-20K preferable. Just as a heads up, I’m trying to put as much of my focus as I can into original work for publication, so I might close slots quickly or be selective with the ideas I take. Does not have to be pony, but obviously I’m going to be better or more interested in either original fiction or franchises I’m familiar

    Blinded by Delight

My brain diagnosis ended up way funnier than "We'll name it after you". It turned out to be "We know this is theoretically possible because there was a recorded case of it happening once in 2003". It turns out that if you have bipolar disorder and ADHD and PTSD and a traumatic brain injury, you get sick in a way that should only be possible for people who have no

    EFNW

I planned on making it this year but then ran into an unfortunate case of the kill-me-deads. In the moment I needed to make a call whether to cancel or not, and I knew I was dying from something but didn't know if it was going to be an easy treatment or not.

Wholesome Rage Update: The Backmatter Pages · 5:41pm Jul 9th, 2018

This will be one of the rare times I link to my Patreon. I feel like advertising it too frequently is 'tacky'. As a reminder, $2 a month will get you all articles a week in advance, as soon as they're written.

However, I'd like to advertise an update I just made for a $5 reward tier.

So I've been thinking about how to actually meaningfully reward Patrons above the $2 tier, and the truth is it's been really difficult to work those in with the schedule I've already got. These articles take a lot of work and time to do, and whatever time I spend in the week not writing them, I'm either researching as many topics as I can, or recuperating.

But I realize that I also keep a very professional face, as much as possible, in the articles themselves. I don't just get to talk about why I love talking about what I've talked about, or all the research that didn't make it into the article this week. All the stuff I've cut.

So from now on, $5 Patrons will have a weekly followup post on Fridays detailing all the research I've done, what sources I recommend, what subjects I'm looking into, and why I find it so interesting. A full behind the curtain look at why I love doing what I do so much.

An unrefined, unmasked full dive into my geeky passion. These will be far closer to author tracts than Wholesome Rage already is, which at least has the pretense of being journalistic.

Welcome to the beginning of the Backmatter pages.

It turns out I've been keeping a diary of everything I study and research and do in a week, for my own benefit, and a staggering amount of it is stuff I absolutely would love to talk about, but can't justify formally putting the time aside to it. But I absolutely can justify setting some time aside to just stream of thought geek out about this stuff, Warren Ellis style. Backmatter pages will be locked behind a paywall because, unfortunately, this has become my full time occupation.
