    IN WHICH HAPPY BOXING DAY!
I meant to post while it was still Christmas (CST) but as usual I’m late. I hope my few remaining readers had a lovely holiday! Here’s a song that’s been in my head lately.

Chuu is one of those who, according to her coworkers, really is just a ball of sunshine. Follow me past the jump.

    IN WHICH I LACK BURRITOS
No, really. I haven’t been by my local burrito place in a long time, partly due to my mother, so I haven’t been able to get good inspiration for another Burritoverse story. Sorry. For now, enjoy my favorite J-Pop group NiziU.

    IN WHICH SCREW DEADLINES
Hey, y’all. Been a few months. Whoever reads this, just wanted to show I’m not dead yet. Do you know NMIXX? You should.

Right. Now, where was I? Oh, I’m sure I’ll figure it out below the jump.

IN WHICH I LIED TO YOU (SORRY)
So… Turns out it's been a full year (!) since my last story. I promised a couple stories in between but failed to finish them. But at least I got my annual Mayor Mare story in. Have some Twice as penance.

More past the jump, if you're willing.

IN WHICH I LIVE… SORT OF
Hi. Been awhile. Not sure who's left to read this. I just now realized I accidentally added an "L" on my last 3 posts. Oops. Well, enjoy Sir Elton.

So, after fixing my screw-up, let's get to the meat of why I'm writing, if you'll pass the jump with me.

IN WHICH I WROTE ANOTHER THING
I'll get to that below the fold. First, Laura Brehm's newest collab…

She moved to the UK to study music production. There goes my dream of travelling to Colorado to see her live. Anyway

As a 'Murikan, I shot off a few fireworks on the 4th of July, but not nearly as many as I wanted because it was too damn hot (even with the rain earlier in the day), and my patio is not totally bare thanks to my mother bringing over her stuff. Plus my backyard is too overgrown at the moment to safely shoot stuff off. I'd have to go out to my dad's place (several acres out in the country) to do anything legit. I asked my now-ex many years in a row if she'd be willing -- she always said no because she hates, with good reason, my dad's current wife… who left him while he was literally on his near-deathbed earlier this year. Cunt.

During my many years in marching band, I got my dad into Drum Corps, so in celebration of his not dying yet, I plan to buy us tickets to a drum corps show happening in the area in about a week and a half.

Also being a 'Murikan, I was VERY tempted to post on social media the UK national anthem, because, just like anime was a mistake, so was the Revolution -- American businessmen getting pissy over taxes, what a novel concept! Also no shock, the Southern colonies (Carolinas and Georgia) were late to join the rebellion for a number of reasons, and the South is the part of the country where tea remains most popular. I would much rather pledge my loyalty and sacred honour to The Queen (Elizabeth II or Suzuka Nakamoto) than Lord Dampnut and his crony cabal. I have asked my Canadian contacts to consider politely asking Justin Trudeau to invade us -- Canada has the best snipers in the world, after all.

No, I'm not exactly proud to be 'Murikan. Not when I see the government the majority of us voted against actively taking us back to ~1892.

FUN FACT: On July 4th 2017, the closest thing the USA has to a non-military state broadcaster, National Public Radio, tweeted the full text of the Declaration Of Independence. They were immediately accused by Trump supporters of treason and of being Un-American commie pinko faggot cucks. I'm not even making this up. You can search NPR's twitter archive yourself.

Speaking of that angry pulsating lump of flesh with a bad weave/combover currently festering in the White House…

I spent most of July 4th writing a new Mayor Mare story. Prime Minister Orangeglow Visits Ponyville! Sometimes ideas just happen and you gotta write them down. Nearly 4000 words in less than 24 hours. I love it when that happens. Now if only the stories I actually give a shit about could happen that easily.

I did finish Sonata's internal rambling for her next Burritoverse story, but I still need to write the part where she's actually offered her job at the Burrito Barn… and inevitably screws up because she's Sonata, but not enough to get fired.

I think next time I might post a screenshot of all the unfinished and/or unpublished stories I have sitting in Gdocs. There's about ten of them.

Well, that's all for tonight. I'ma try and go back to sleep now.

Peace out!

That's really kind of you to bring your dad to a drum corps. :D

It wasn't so much people getting pissy over taxes. Taxes are fine. It was taxes without representation in government that got some people in a tizzy.

Being ruled by Canada would be nice if it wasn't being run by Trudeau right now. He's gone back on some of his main promises and is threatening indigenous people through it. But then again when did we ever care about indigenous people in our histories?

Great song! Sweet dreams and many cycles.
