Commission Step-Up!! · 8:03am Jun 23rd, 2018
Hello Everypony,
I think I may have mentioned this already at some point in the past, but I've taken my break, and since Bronycon 2018 is on the way, it's time to get back to commission work! I have a debt I want to get paid off this year, so I'm going to do what I can to step-up production. I have also updated my Trello board, so everybody who is already on my queue can see where they stand (there were a few entries in there from folks who were no longer interested).
Please be advised that my queue is currently somewhere around 2-3 months out. I apologize for that, but life is a busy thing, and I don't like to half-ass work I have been paid to do. I will work as quickly as I can, but I won't sacrifice quality and proofreading, plus I like to give my patrons time to read the story before it is published (if they choose to) so they can weigh-in on any edits they may have.
*PLEASE NOTE that I have rescinded my word count limit for commissions, as previously stated on my submission guidelines.
See you at Bronycon 2018! (Find me there and you can even have a spiffy, shiny business card for free )
Below is some fine-print stuff, reiterated from my recently updated my submission guidelines for your convenience:
I do not charge to reserve a spot in my queue - the reason for this is that I am not comfortable sitting on people's money before I'm ready to work for them, and if I dont' have your money, I can justify taking short breaks in between commissions to work on personal projects - this means that rest assured, once you've paid me, I'm prioritizing your project. All you need to do to get in the queue is approach me with your project idea - once we have discussed and hammered it out (and I have decided it's something I'm willing to do), I'll add you to the queue.
I ask that folks have some idea what they want before approaching me - in other words, please don't ask to 'just be put on the list and we'll figure out the details later', as I need to have some idea what I will be writing next, how long it may potentially be, and whether or not I would be willing to do it in the first place. If you don't know how long of a story you want don't worry, as I can usually gauge how long I think a given scene with be, and of course I will work with you to determine your preferences and what sort of dollar amount you'd like to stick with. Payment is expected in advance of work, but if I exceed the word count we agreed to, I will not charge you extra. I only charge more after the fact if you want there to be more, thus there are no hidden fees. I also politely ask people not be asked to be put on my queue multiple consecutive times, unless I have no other commission projects to work on.
I will do my best to adhere to the projects in the order they were received. There should be no reason why I can't do this, but let's be frank - if a huge whopper of an assignment comes along, very high dollar or high profile, I may consider shuffling it forward a bit. By the same token, if your project is really short, as in something I can bust out quickly between other work, I may consider moving it up on that basis as well. There's also something to be said for projects I'm personally excited to work on, but I'm a picky bitch in terms of what tickles my fancy so I make no promises there
Please read my submission guidelines completely before approaching me for a commission!!
