IN WHICH I HIT A BLOCK
Have I mentioned how much I hate adulting? And I don't even do it as much as most must. Have this video:

Hey! Did y'all know I'm a slow writer? If you didn't, then I'll say it again. Guess what... I'm a slow writer! I get busy with other things (like adulting -- fuck that, by the way). I lose interest in what I'm doing. I sometimes fall into a funk and end up unable to do much of anything.
What does that have to do with anything? Well, I'm still working on that non-canon Sunset story I mentioned before. It's tough going because of the subject matter. I'm mired in writing about paranoia. Haven't even gotten to Sunny addressing her shoulder spider and shoulder cowboy. (BTW, I'm so glad I can watch SF Debris again; I missed Chuck's Voyager "characters")
I've also rewritten several of the lines in Anon-A-Miss so that I can submit it as Anon-A-Fix. There are some passages I need to add here and there to flesh out the world a bit more and make it clearer that it is in the same basic world as SRA/Burrito. But I got bored redoing the formatting halfway through. I'll get back to it eventually. I can't post it until after SRA is all up and maybe not until the Burritoverse is completed.
Y'know, I could leave the Burritoverse open-ended like I did Mayor's Break Time until deciding I'm done. BUT, I've known for two years how the 'verse will end. Depending on whether I want to finish Octavia's story and add a Sonata story, I have anywhere from one to three more Burrito stories to go. That's it. I'll be the first to admit I ran out of ideas long ago... Even Sci-Twi's is an offshoot of a future story I already have mostly outlined.
And will probably need a lot of help on when I get to it, as it's in a very difficult (for me) genre -- Mystery.
I know I've said this before but... SRA and the Burritoverse will be completed this year. Once those are out the door, how many will return to see what other horsewords I can barf out? I know my three loyal followers probably would.
But I'm sure you can understand my frustration that I'm best known for "depressed Sunset" and very few look at my stories beyond that. The first thing I plan to publish after SRA is an old Adventure story that doesn't involve Sunset at all. I don't expect anyone will read it, but I'm going to publish it anyway because I promised myself. And I worked hard on it, taking it from under 3,000 words to over 30,000 -- by far my longest single story to date.
And of course I'll always write Mayor Mare stories for as long as I'm on this site, even if no one reads them. Problem is it's getting difficult to find good pics of her that I don't have to ask permission for (i.e. screencaps & comic pages).
Since I've got a couple more minutes, I'll talk about research. I do it. Loyal readers know I often talk in my blogposts about the research I do for stories (especially Burritoverse ones). That's because I care. I guess. I always hope my attention to detail pays off. Well, it makes me satisfied, which I suppose is what matters in the end.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to watch a Star Trek movie I rented from the Library before I have to turn it back in.
