A good story isn't measured by how long it is, but by how long it stays with you.

Everfree Northwest Surreal Experience · 7:49am May 20th, 2018

So it's Saturday, technically Sunday, and I'm at EFNW. IM A LITTLE DRUNK, and somehow that was capslock because yes and I just had the most surreal experience in the men's bathroom. It only gets worse from there.

[Scene_break]

So I'm talking to Hap about Breaking Bad among other things (which extended from a lengthy conversation about the proper roasting of coffee beans), and, being two beers and three vodka shots (I'm a lightweight, I know), I gotta pop the seal.

So I'm in the bathroom at the urinal and this big black guy comes in talking a small level of smack to some other guy around the corner that I couldn't see about something that I don't remember already. Long story short, I laughed, and the black guy comes around the corner to take a piss too, saying something about never being sorry for things he's said or done.

So, being as far gone as I am atm (again, lightweight), I laugh hysterically at the crap—the absolute bullshit (that, although I call out as bullshit I can plainly see has some level of logic to it)—he's saying. So naturally, he continues the conversation with me. Quickly, he pins the argument on me, and I defend with a question on how he distinguishes the difference between “I'm sorry” and “being apologetic.”

Now, being a horsewordsmith, I dive right into this with him. When I pose the question—that of the difference between each phrase, because I wanna see what he says—he rebuttals with some quip that a “black man never have no conversation with another man when his dick out,” and I lost it. Being a man, I can respect that.

So he calls me on my questioning of his definitions with an instant parry via “what is the true Webster shit definition?” So I look it up, and we have an instantaneous heart to heart on the subtle difference between the definitions. (Drunk me will let you look them up yourself.)

I really don't know where this blog is going, but I had to get that out. And if I were to give some modicum of “life lesson,” it would be “words have weight.” Which, if you guys would like, I can and would be wholly willing to do another blog on. But for now, this blog is to you Hassan. You made my Everfree Northwest 2018 “Bringing Equestria to Earth” My Little Pony Convention worth every minute, penny, and ounce of mental strength worth it.

Hassan, man. If you somehow read this blog, whether it be tonight or years from now, I love you and your outlook on life, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your days.

On another note, I posted another chapter of Compatī about an hour ago, and I hope you all like it if you're following it already or give it a try if you're not.

But how does it compare to pretzels? :trollestia:

These sorts of blog posts make me wish I was there the most.
