In all my years of writing, I've always figured I will go back to every single character I can and give them attention beyond the original story itself. It's not something all writers emphasize, but it's something I personally enjoy. I like to give characters as much potential as they deserve, and that often means going back to them, writing new content about them, etcetra. But then, when writing my latest story, Light Pollution, I realized something.
Unless I choose to write one of my several IYGALL prequel ideas that I've had for years and never got around to, this will likely be the last story with speaking parts for a particular character...

As much as I hate to say it, I'll miss this flankhole. But I've pretty much mined all the potential he has, and we all know he would do the same if he realized somepony else had outlived their usefulness. Quite literally, the only other time I anticipate writing him is for a jail-themed fic, and that's mainly so I can add "if you can't do the time" to my collection of "if you" expressions I've used for fic titles. Obviously, he'll still show up in IYGALL in spirit, because that's how much he's screwed everypony over. But I don't anticipate using him for much longer.
