Season 8 School Daze Episodes kinda screw me over, but also gave some pretty cool ideas · 5:00pm Mar 24th, 2018

Have you seen the new episodes yet?! They were awesome!
If you haven't seen them yet, minor spoilers ahead!
So, while I was planning the names and characteristics of all the changeling Arch Queens, I researched a lot of stuff about insect anatomy, Latin language, and mythology. One result from a insect anatomy was the White Arch Queen Ocellus, the name given to the simple eye of many insects, including Mantisses, the insect the White Arch Queen is based off. I chose that name due to the Arch Queen's ability to be completely undetectable to magic and perfect camouflage, turning her into an overpowered specter and great assassin. But then the new season came in and brought its new Changeling: Ocellus... 
(I can't be mad at her tho, she's the most adorable ling I've ever seen! 
) Well, now the White Arch Queen has a new name, this one being a translation from a Latin word that references her concealment abilities and stealth. 
But where something is lost, a new thing is found! In the new episode, the students flee from their responsibles after a big mess at school and where do they choose to hide? Well, our Young Queen's hive at the Everfree Forest of course 
There, they had to fight a new pack of creatures introduced in the show. You can expect to find them in The Nameless Queen at some point 
Well, that's all I had to say, not my kind of thing to do a "Episode Review" but I felt I had to do it this time
The first draft of the special chapter should be ready by tomorrow! I'll leave a link to it at the Hivemind so everybody that have a changeling there can give their opinions about it before it goes live!

There is no law that states names can't collide.
Well, one thing you could do is simply state that your story takes place earlier in the time line, thus avoiding messing about in the school. The name change is probably necessary, but I would recommend waiting at least until mid season before referencing any of the new content.

Well, I already did state that the story takes place during season 2. And yeah, the white Arch Queen still is a bit farther away in the story so she will appear probably around the mid hiatus of the show I guess
I just thought about mentioning it now 'cuz I really hit the spot with that name (unfortunately in a bad way
)

I have a Changeling names list that I came up with and use for my Changeling characters. Among the many insect-based names, Ocellus was one that I had considered but had ultimately rejected because it didn't feel like a name that would have been used in the show.
And then DHX just goes and uses that very name... ah well.

It appears to be a theme around here then. I remember reading a fic where the main character was named Thoraxis, two years later and what do they name the new changeling in the show?

I nominate this problem to be solved by The Captain of the Chitin Guard regarding the {ahem} Wildlife surrounding the Hive if someling has even been given such a responsibility and title I think an orientation and election is in order to see who the best warrior is. - Your cute little ling Masky
