"Kung Pow: Enter the Hoof" Goes into a Coma

Even though I'm pretty sure nobody's reading these blog posts, I'm posting this in case someone's interested: "Kung Pow: Enter the Hoof" is going back on hiatus.

I know I've been posting stuff about how it's coming back and how great it's going to be, but there are two factors hindering me from continuing:

1. Lack of comedy writing experience. This is the most serious problem, as I've never really focused on a comedy story before. This is problematic, given how "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist" was not just a comedy, but a film originally. This makes it harder for me to do a story involving its characters and style of humor, as many of the jokes from the original film don't work in the context of a written story (particularly the bizarre dubbing).

2. A large backlog of other stories. My first blog on this site was for the National Pony Writing Month last November, where I wrote a number of stories for the contest. But one of the caveats of the Writing Month was that you didn't have to write a fully fleshed-out story, you just had to write one that was (roughly) complete. Because of this, a lot of stories have been written, but not edited and proof-read. This is problematic for me, as I'd rather just upload them and be done with them than have them lying around for several months/years.

The easiest way to fix these problems is to simply write more comedic fics, read more comedic fics and finish uploading all these other stories. I'm going to go and read all of my favorited comedies on this site, as well as a few others I haven't read just yet. This will hopefully give me an exposure to the right kind of writing tactics for comedic writing. I'll also work on editing all of those National Pony Writing Month Stories so that I can upload them here. This'll give me both more experience writing and a lighter caseload.

tl;dr version: "Enter the Hoof" is once again on indefinite hiatus, and I'm going to spend time improving myself before I continue with it.
