Signature Spellbook: Twilight Sparkle · 10:25pm Mar 21st, 2018
Wizards of the Coast just announced the compilation set Signature Spellbooks: Jace, which consists of a Jace Beleren planeswalker card as well as seven additional spells which exemplify his character archetype, complete with a spiffy new card frame.
As this is likely to be the first in a series of Signature Spellbook sets starring different planeswalkers, I’m going to go ahead and envision some examples for MLPlaneswalker characters, starting with our everyone’s favorite book horse.
Signature Spellbook: Twilight Sparkle
Comes with Twilight, Alicorn Ascendant and seven additional spells.
New Art: Twilight rapidly sifting through an enormous, haphazardly-stacked pile of books, scrolls, and codices in her own castle library. Her mane is frazzled, and her eyes are bloodshot from fatigue.
New Flavor Text: “Saccharine, sachet, sack, sacrament... Oh, for the love of Celestia, where is it!?”
New Art: Twilight Sparkle, standing in the center of her laboratory, wearing a lab coat and goggles. Her body is in the process of being cartoonishly zapped by a surge of forked lightning from her horn. In the bottom-right corner, Spike looks on worrying.

New Art: Twilight stands before a road cutting through a great field of wheat. As the sun dips below the horizon, she waves goodbye to Tempest Shadow, who gives one last wistful smile as she sets out to build a new life.

New Art: A wide shot of the Golden Oaks library, casting a deep red light over its surroundings as it’s consumed by intense, all-powerful flames. Twilight sits on her haunches in the foreground, ears folded against her head. Her entire body is facing away from the viewer, and though her face isn’t shown, it’s immediately clear from her body language how devastated she is by the destruction of her old home.
