Retrograde - The next project

Hello, everypony! I have some interesting news for today. I'm here to announce the next project that I will be working on!

The Memory Stone is gone, and Sunset Shimmer’s friends have regained their lost memories... but her own memory has not returned.

Faced with the reality that her friends would lose their memories of one another, Sunset Shimmer dove in front of the magic shot forth from the Memory Stone, and watched as her memories of her closest friends left her bit by bit. In the end, this act allowed her friends to come out on top, and regain what Wallflower had taken from them in her quest for revenge.

With the memory stone destroyed, the question now is how to restore her memories. After all, who was she without the memories of the events that had defined her? Could she still be the same Sunset Shimmer that her friends remembered, or is that Sunset Shimmer gone forever?

Twilight Sparkle of Equestria certainly doesn’t want to lose a dear friend. But, perhaps, some things really are forever; some things once done cannot be undone.

This story is based on the upcoming Forgotton Friendship special and acts as a sort-of alternative outcome to it. I believe it will be quite the emotional story. It's also dabbling in something that I haven't written about just yet: shipping! Much of this story will be centered around the relationship between Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle (the pony version, that is). Other characters include the rest of the humane six, Starlight Glimmer, Moondancer, Wallflower, and perhaps some familiar faces for those familiar with my previous works (I'm not going to say who they are; you'll have to recognize those for yourself!).

A couple of things that I'd like to say really quick:

Firstly, this is, in fact, a collab! I'll be writing this story alongside Onyx Archer. Be sure to check them out, give them a follow, and the like. It is just as much their story as it is mine.

And secondly, the cover art above is temporary. We are in talks with a skilled artist to get something that is especially snazzy (as in, it's going to be some high-quality digital art). This is a collab, and all, so I get to break my own rules on this one!

Thirdly, this doesn't preclude me from working on my own stories. So if there is one you're looking forward to, don't panic just yet!

And lastly, I want to end this announcement with a release date! The special itself airs on the 17th. And, in order to give you all the beginning of this exciting adventure in good time,

Retrograde will launch on Sunday, February 18th.
