    Also, Commissions For Charity

So right now I’m offering vignettes (roughly 1000-2000 words) as commissions, but instead of paying me you make a donation to charity. Any charity. If you need suggestions, then:

    Charity: Center for Disaster Philanthropy

So okay. Originally I was going to raise money for something closer to home but the barn has secured a grant that makes me less worried about it, and I think my efforts would be better focused here.

    Next Month: Charity Time

So I'm thinking that next month I'd like to run a charity event, but this will be a little different from previous events and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work.

    Happy Hearts and Hooves

In other news, I'm going to be getting a charity thing up and running maybe next month, so that should be exciting. We'll see how it goes, though. The format will be a little different but hopefully it'll be a lot of fun for everyone.

    Here's To The New Year

So it hasn't been exactly the best year, really. While I've had a record amount of commissions, it's cut into personal writing time. There's also the whole "working with actual horses" thing, and the fact that, you know, that seems to be even more of a passion for me than writing is. Not that I'm planning to stop writing or anything.

So okay, we didn't quite make it where I wanted. My estimate is that I ended up with $250 in donations, which honestly isn't bad at all considering how busy I know it's been this year for many people and many other charities, and I'm very grateful for it. That and the fact that I got so many commissions means I'll be able to put some more money towards Midwest myself.
There were a few donators who never asked for anything, or who never specified amounts. That's fine: if I can write a snippet for you, I'd be very happy to.
I will try and be more organized if and when I do this again, and simplify things further, both for my ease and yours.
If anyone has any questions or comments, if I haven't received information about your donation - I know emailing and messaging can be fickle - please don't hesitate to get in touch with me, I'd be happy to hear from you and help where I can.
Thanks again everyone, happy to have been able to raise at least a little money for a good cause.
