The Year of the Rooster Comes to an End. · 4:09am Jan 1st, 2018

First Order of Business, let's talk from one of the last people on Earth to see this in Theaters. Beforehand, I've seen many personal reviews from fellow users on this site. Some loved it, others not.

What does this person think?

I am more in the middle. It's not a bad movie at all, and I actually understand Luke being a bit off due to his failure. But on the other hand, it felt too long for a Star Wars film. My dad and I just talked and we thought cutting out a few of the Casino scenes would be enough since really the goal of them was to bring back memories of the Cantina. If anything, they could have finished up with Rey and Kylo Ren on Snoke's ship and save the fight on the mineral planet for Episode 9 (at least prolong Cary Fischer's post-living career.

It is fun seeing that they use puppets quite often, especially with Frank Oz coming back to be Yoda.

If you're still a straggler for this movie, go to a theater and watch it. You probably won't regret it.

Now to answer the very few questions in my Q&A.

Base Anonymous asked

what story are you the most proud of? Or which one you feel the most passionate about?

Hmmm.... I guess if it was multiple choice question, my opinion would be either one of the "Land Before Time" crossovers or my comeback story "In Search of Sunset: The Mysterious Island." The first choice because I contributed more to what little was there on this website. And the latter, because I worked with what I know and what I know, are ponies and kaiju. And so far it worked wonders.

HB_DS2013 asked

What made you like Sunset Shimmer?

Perhaps because she has one of the best character arcs in the whole franchise (and whole isn't saying a lot, as Generation 4 is the only one that actually cares about character development). Plus as mentioned before she is pretty easy to write.

And finally, my New Years Resolution.

1) More Stories: Definitely what was lacking this year, but there is always a thing of quality over quantity. But my goal in the Year of the Dog tomorrow is to reach over fifty stories. So far, including the stories I haven't written and those I have listed on my front page, that number reaches 48. What I have planned is this:

Revive the Jongojiverse: Finishing "Vacant Niches" is a start; afterward, I go back to my third person roots.
*"The New Timeline" itself still has a story arc that happens before the Season 6 finale I need to finish up. I have in mind a story arc that happens after the Movie involving Tempest Shadow/Fizzlepop Berrytwist and Cogsworth/Galgameth work off each other culminating with the latter salvaging abandoned tech from the reformed Changeling Hive and form the Predacons.
*Equestria Girls, aside from two rewrite stories, will have four more stories. One would focus on the Rainbooms in college at Everton; the danger isn't far away though (a story arc I had planned for "Vacant Niches," a season 4 if you mind, will be placed here). After two "seasons," a third season would have the Crusaders and the Maximals joining them, and a fourth, chronologically the last, having two endings. Beneath it all, a side story involving Dapplewood in the first person, forming his own posse misfits (namely his best friend, Maple Syrup, being a Baku under his nose, a blind Cyclops, Whip (the small dragon with the big tail from Dragon Quest, in this universe, he's asymmetrical like TMNT 2012 character Dogpound), and an independent Tsuchigumo) as he solves a mystery involving the banished Pony of Shadows (remember, he was banished, not destroyed) while also keeping a low profile from Principal Cinch's help in the form The Storm King and his squad. It would also have two endings. The TMNT Crossover with Babs occurs just a while after "Camping is Just Dazzling" (in Turtle Time, it's after the Turtles first defeated Shredder, avenging Hamato Yoshi) and ends just a year later. A fourth story involves Aria and Sonata going on their own adventures after being pushed around one too many times.

Holiday Themed Stories/Contests: I have two Valentines Day story, one based on this picture I drew

and another, possibly my first M-rated story being a "future tense" AppleGrove story (this is the story that was going to be part of a trilogy occurring roughly the same time, but a few others story I've read have a similar idea).

Monsterverse Crossovers: I may have missed the anniversary of TMNT and a coincident story with Sharknado 5, but I'm definitely not missing the anniversary of my Kaiju. "Monsters of Everfree" will have its chapters published throughout this coming April, coinciding with the eighty-fifth anniversary of the original King Kong film. My fiftieth, and final story, "Equestria Girls: King of the monsters" will have its first chapter released on the first of August, coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of the original "Destroy All Monsters" film (itself supposed to be the last Godzilla film before Toho decided to continue the Showa series).

A few stories will have to be axed though, these being
* Jet Force Gemini Crossover (Game itself is too massive for my drive)
* Titan AE Crossover (Though it pains me, not sure how I can make it work, given the stakes of the original movie)

Thus the stories I have by the end of 2018 (not counting chapters) are
The 28 stories I have published

What I will require is getting my confidence back

2) More Movie Reviews: Last year, the only good movies around were during the beginning and the end of 2017, and it was a bad time for animated ones. 2018 shows a lot of promise. Likewise, the coming November would be the thirtieth anniversary of The Land Before Time, definitely expect a retrospective throughout that month.

3) Revive my Youtube Channel: It's the reason why I've been building puppets with Toon Boom. The videos done consists of tests and short scenarios.

4) Move to a higher paying position, open up a Paypal account for commissions: Now that I have an apartment, I need to make more money, and spending much of my time on register four to eight hours a day for only $9.38 an hour and having only a few days a week isn't going to cut it. Moving to a more secluded store like Walgreens or Hobby Lobby is my goal. As for the Paypal, I'll explore it later, but the money earned with the commissions will help me upgrade my technology, update my style of living, and if my Youtube shorts do well, be able to hire some online voice talent.

So, there have been numerous ups and downs in the Year of the Rooster, but I was able to pull through thanks to my friends, family, and above all you. Feel free to keep supporting me, and I'll do what I can to support you.

Breathe Deep, Seek Peace.
