    MLP: TNG

I'm a month late to this, but here's my take on MLP: TNG (or whatever we're calling it). I was underwhelmed the first time I watched it, but I gave it a second chance, and it started to grow on me. I think my mistake was watching Raya and the Last Dragon just a few days before the G5 movie. Both movies have similar themes and plots, but they handle them differently. More on that later.

    Revisiting the Final Season

A few months ago, I rewatched Season 9, and I liked it even better than the first time I saw it. There were still two episodes that I didn't care for: “3, 2, 1, Greaaat” and “Trivial Pursuit.” With both of those episodes, I went into them with the mindset that I would skip to the next episode when they started to annoy me. I only made it a few minutes into each episode.

    Bereavement

It's been awhile since I've posted any updates. Things happened one after another to make me lose interest in multicolored ponies. First the show ended, and then real world problems started happening. Then came the worst case scenario – I lost my father in February of this year.

    Random update

I haven't been on this site as much as I use to because of real life distractions. Not all of the distractions have been good, but the good ones are truly amazing.

Pony Life is a regression to Season One

Maybe it's just because the MLP stop-motion shorts lowered my expectations, but so far I think Pony Life is okay. I wouldn't call it good, but at least it doesn't directly insult older fans the way Thundercats Roar does (or so I've heard). I enjoy Pony Life's animation style enough to recommend watching five minutes of it. Plus, there is actual dialog spoken by the same VA's from FiM, and they

Thank you for helping my fanfic be sucessful · 8:28pm Dec 30th, 2017

If “So You Escaped From Limbo” hadn't made the feature box, I probably wouldn't have written more than three chapters. But once I saw my fanfic on the home page, I wanted to make that happen again and again. So I wrote as much as I could each day, but the time spent writing started cutting into my sleep. I cut back writing enough to go to bed at a decent time, but still neglected my house cleaning and Christmas shopping until finally at the end of November I thought, 'Crap, I really should prioritize Real Life.' But now that I've had some time to get stuff done and take a week-long breather, I should get back into the writing zone soon. I have two more chapters of “Escaped From Limbo” planned, maybe three if the inspiration strikes me, but likely not more than that.

However, I do have ideas for spin-off fanfics that follow the same continuity. One idea is Flash Magnus's diplomatic visit to the Dragonlands to become acquainted with Torch. Another idea I had is a quest story with the working title of “The Incredible Scavenger Hunt”:

There is a legend that whoever possesses all eight of Mage Meadowbrook's Enchanted Items can control all of Equestria. Five of the eight were lost over the centuries, but now that Meadowbrook has returned, she may have some idea of their whereabouts. So Queen Chrysalis kidnaps Meadowbrook and interrogates her about her missing Items. It's up to the other Pillars to rescue their friend, but the queen keeps teleporting to different locations. Luckily, they just happen to have a riddle-solving pegasus on their team who can find clues to where Chrysalis will show up next.

Aside from that, would anyone be at all interested in a RockhoofxApplejack adventure romance story? Maybe something with them joining Captain Celaeno's crew?

Of course, I'm not saying I'd write any of these spin-off fanfics any time soon. Finishing “Escape From Limbo” is a priority, but after that I'd like to finish the next chapter of “Applejack Fixes Everything” (at the rate I'm updating that fic, I should be all set to complete it by 2022 :ajbemused:). I'd also like to write a sequel to “Earth Ponies Are OP,” which will have a stronger plot than the original, but still plenty of the headcanon dumps that I'm semi-famous for.

I sent "Escaped From Limbo" to Equestria Daily, but the pre-reader thought that it was too episodic for the refined tastes of the ED crowd. I'm not as bitter as I probably sound, though. I mean, another ED pre-reader did like my less popular story “Seeking Harmony” enough to feature it. “Escaped From Limbo” isn't that kind of fanfic. It was always meant to be character-focused instead of plot-driven, and I don't think it's worth the effort to retool it into something it was never intended to be just to get a couple dozen more upvotes and favorites.

BTW, if you're a new follower, thank you and welcome. I usually see an uptick in readers and followers during holiday breaks, most likely from people going through their Read It Later lists. I know some writers get frustrated by the RIL list, but I say: better late than never. And I obviously get how Real Life can get in the way of pony fic. :raritywink:

A rockhoofxApplejack adventure romance story sounds nice. I can't wait for it and the rest of your fics.
