Merry Christmas! · 2:59pm Dec 25th, 2017
Well, merry Christmas! It's indeed the season to be joyful and happy. The time of giving—not getting but giving. But, why do we keep celebrating Christmas?
Stop and think about it. Why Christmas? Why set aside the end of the year as the time of being happy and receiving gifts? We could just make it a holiday and just enjoy ourselves—but, why the emphasis on gifts and giving?
To get straight to the point: Jesus Christ.
Wise men gave gifts to Him while He was still very young—that's where the tradition of gift-giving sprang up. However, the bigger point here is this: that God gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to us. He was born to die for us, to be raised again three days later; if you believe in Him fully as your Lord and Savior—committing your life to be fully His, no caveats—then you will be saved.
We all need the Lord Jesus Christ. We all need God.
And, whether I can give you a physical gift or not, I think that giving you the Good News is better than that.
Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year! :)
