I'm through with Disney Canon

I'm sure a lot of you were wondering where I've been, and the answer boils down to being busy and having my computer (and all the chapters I had written) succumb to technical issues.

The main impetus for this post is that I've seen The Last Jedi. To sum it up: its terrible and I hate it. I was uncertain about the Disney vs. EU continuity in my fanfics before and this has settled the issue. Goodbye Disney, you've ruined you version of Star Wars for me. Empire and Rebellion will be following EU canon from here on out, which should hopefully be within the next few weeks.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas everyone!

It's good to have you back. And yes, The Last Jedi was terrible. There are a lot of reasons why and I don't feel like descending into a rant right now so the only thing I will say is that you have good taste.

I had suspected the new movies would be bad when they were first announced and was sadly proven right. The way they handled Luke was just... I have no words.

Literally rendering the entire original trilogy and Luke Skywalker's journey utterly pointless to huck Rey Sue. Appointing an unthreatening emo the big bad. Undoing the entire Rebellion era pointless because they cannot understand bad guys being underdogs. Being preachy as shit. I could go on for hours but the point is that a random hobo could write a better script for a trip to McDonalds.

Honestly for me, the movie was bad and completely fucked over the strive of the original trilogy. And it has basically eliminated many, if not most of the amazing stuff in star wars legends. And the slap to the face of their reasoning has left me truly dumbfounded. Watch the movie, and you can clearly see what I mean by that.

And I'm not hate mobbing. I could honestly be grudgingly okay with them going in A new/direction. That's only IF they made up for it with equal in quality/balancing content. For anyone who at least knows the basics for the comics, they obviously have failed.

And those that don't even dive into that, (such as my brother and sister) left the movie theater with more confusion and disappointment then my reaction to Rey's cheap jedi mind trick. (in The Force Awakens)

For me, this is some of what Star Wars: The Last Jedi did.

• Made a cheap story with nothing accomplished on either side.
• Screwed over all that was accomplished in the original trilogy.
• Messed and ruined Luke Skywalker's journey & his purpose entirely.
• Nearly wrecked the Rebellion completely out of existence.
• Wasted off a shit ton of original/already made potential characters and story.
• Mainly focusing/boosting on Rey Sue & Edgelord Kylo Ren.
• 2h 35m of plot dragging.
• Blowing shit up. (Not in a good way)

Also note: the stuff listed above is but a fraction of what the movie has done.

My overall opinion of Star Wars: The Last Jedi
The equivalent of a 60 min written fanfic for the likes of Michael Bay with no consideration for any past lore.
