Wanderer's Diary: Week One · 2:45pm Dec 1st, 2012

So remember I mentioned I was thinking of writing a Fallout story? Well this isn't it. The idea I was talking about was way different, and may still happen, but it's a while off if it ever does come. So to get myself some practice in, I wrote up this thing. It's Fallout 3 in diary format.

I know just telling the story of one of the ways the game could have gone isn't the most original idea, not even the diary thing I think, but I figure I can show my take on it anyway. As always, trying to make it a comedy too, in my standard style. This time, trying to do so without either references or reusing of the game's already existing humour. I call this self imposed challenge "hardcore mode".

Instead the humour comes from the Wanderer himself, who is characterised here as an intelligent sort, but also suffering from a superiority complex from being around wasteland trash, and who's just discovering his love for casual murder.

It's not actually based on any actual playthrough of mine, small similarities near the beginning aside, but I've kept it true to the games. I've even got the hypothetical stats of this Wanderer written down, and I can link that too if anyone actually cares. It's got minor additions in place to make the world seem realistic, but not much really happens that isn't possible in a normal, unmodded game, especially this early.

If anyone likes it, I'll continue it. If not, maybe it'll find a home elsewhere after some improvements.

434927 Not bad, not bad at all. I found that most of the decisions the Wanderer made, were the same that I made as well. Now, are you going to explore the DLC first, or the main storyline? Broken Steel will obviously be done after the main storyline is complete, but The Pitt, Anchorage, Point Lookout, and Zeta could all be done before the Wanderer activates the purifier.
