My book, The Steadfast Sky, has FINALLY made it into print! That only took, what 15 months? Buh-JEEBUS.
The Steadfast Sky was originally a EQD 6-star My Little Pony fanfic. But It’s been rewritten from the ground up into a whole new, original story.
The book follows the lives of four teens as they struggle to live in the enclosed city of Helleborus. Melody and Violet live in poverty, but after one takes a job as a family spy, they are caught up in the currents of political and social schemes. Brynth and Crusher live in the underground castle, as part of an elite hunting force called Chimeras. They kidnap people from the streets at night and offer the corpses to the God of Kindness.
Things can only get worse for these teens, as the Chimera’s hunts are turning up less and less, and food is slowly becoming harder and harder to come by. A decision is made among the elders; if the situation continues, they will begin culling & selling the meat of their own children. All of Chimera kind is whipped into frenzy from this decision, and many hunters are prepared to do drastic things to stop this from happening. With the God of Kindness having fallen silent, there is no higher authority available to help these struggling teens. They all have to figure out and conquer these impossible situations on their own.

Oh wow, that's fantastic! Congratulations! I have to wait for next paycheck to get this but with no doubt this WILL be going on my bookshelf. Steadfast Sky is still one of my fav fics to this day and I cannot wait to read this original rewrite!
This is going to be a trilogy, right? Or maybe a tetralogy? I just finished the first book, and it ends... kinda around the point the first book began? Not exactly but like a few chapters in. And since you've added a new character and an extra Virtue, in theory the story will take even longer to complete. So I don't see how you're going to tell the whole story in less than three books and maybe even four.
(BTW, excellent work on rewriting into an original fic! I was initially disappointed that all the main characters were turning into humanoids because one of the things I like about MLP is the diversity of species, but in the actual book you've even expanded on that so pretty much every species is a sapient member of society... kind of like what if Zootopia also had humans and magic-using elves and fantasy creatures in it. And was a dystopia. :-) I didn't get why you split Discord into two characters at first but it became obvious later, and I liked that you gave Ruin his own plot arc and made the Chimera society a bit more complex than they were in the original as draconequui.)

Thanks for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it ^_^ And also glad you explained more differences, because I've been stuck in this thing for two plus years and sometimes dunno how to phrase things XD
I plan this to only be three or four books. The plot... will probably go totally off the rails from here, and will resemble the original story less and less as time goes on. With how different the setting/tone is, the original arc of the fanfic version doesnt quite fit anymore.
