What's treated as little things that might as well be Big things · 11:47pm Oct 18th, 2017

You read that right, in particular there's one thing that's been going through my head for a while now that needs to be discussed seriously. Pinkie's place of residence, so far she's been living in a room at Suguarcube Corner but that's going to need to change. I know change isn't addressed all that often in kids' shows, and a lot of people think this is something that shouldn't change or will not change but I think it does. Pinkie needs a place of her own, especially Pinkie needs a place to call her own because Sugarcube Corner has very limited space, at some point the twins might want their own rooms or Cup Cake could end up with another bun in the oven and prompt some further changes at Sugarcube Corner. It's never been disclosed how much Pinkie makes, or much of it she spends on all her supplies and materials, but at the very least she probably has enough squirreled away to buy a decently sized house, maybe with an attic and/or basement. Pinkie changing her place of residence, even if it's in another part of Ponyville, could be an episode all to itself.

Something that irks me, but not anger or infuriate me, in the MLP fandom, in fact I enjoy some of the stories, is stories that assume that Pinkie will still be living at Sugarcube Corner when the twins are school age or older. It probably comes down to personal preference, but to see such a lack of change from such a creative fan base makes me feel disappointed. As far as I know, I'm the only author who has written future Pinkie as having her own place. Pinkie has made her life's mission to make anyone she so much as vaguely knows feel happier if she can help it, as long as it doesn't seriously hurt anyone on any level. So, having a house, preferably with multiple stories, all to herself means she would have more space to put stuff, even more so if she designed and oversaw the construction of the place.

The story I have tagged on this blog is something I wrote for a fan contest, but it shows what I think future Pinkie might live in. As fans we always like to imagine where our favorites could go in the future, but for some reason this one element of the future I really haven't seen anyone addressing. The rest of the Main 6 are pretty much set in their residences, for different reasons. The Apple family homestead is shown to have plenty of rooms, also with the implied size of the farm they could just build another house a respectable distance away for those that are starting their own families. Rarity has her place of business also acting as her home, Sweetie isn't always staying there and will likely get her own place when she's old enough. Fluttershy has her cottage, which usually is shared with a menagerie of animals she's acting as caretaker for. Rainbow has her own place, granted it's a cloud and could easily be moved but the point still stands. And Twilight has her castle, which has been stated on numerous occasions since its introduction to have lots of rooms. The only one who really doesn't have a large portion of their own Space is Pinkie, Applejack lives on a farm that does regular barn raisings so I think it's a pretty good bet that if she wanted her own personal residence the family would help her build one on the farm wherever she wants to. In other words, Pinkie really doesn't have a whole lot of space for her to have her personal belongings, her having a house of some kind could remedy that.

And as stated above, they could turn the whole thing into an episode, or maybe more than on revolving around all the things involved in moving, even if it is a short distance.
