Actually, yes! While it's still in its writing process, I'll give you a SUPER sneak peak below for asking the right question there!
Long story short, Celestia and the "Elite Operative" guards featured in the fic knew about a potential attack two days prior, but not "who" the attackers were, nor "how" they planned to attack. So Celestia hid half of the forces on the outskirts of Canterlot rather than in the city proper, in an attempt to intercept any invading forces by land. However, the Storm King's armada snuck past those guards via the massive storm cloud they emerge from in the movie, and by the time the guards realised their mistake and arrived back in Canterlot to help, it was already too late.
Not too much Gore I hope.

Nah, nothing too gory. Nothing "SAW" levels of gore, more like "epic fantasy battles" level. Like, no one would get their guts spilled on the floor in vivid detail or have their insides feasted on, or anything like that. But it's more like "There's a battle, so-and-so got stabbed with a sword and perished" kinda gore (I won't spoil the specifics though). The tag's just there for the fair warning of it.

You get an idea on what happened during that attack during the "you" character's input, since he was technically there. Best wait and see!
