    New Story Up!

I'm still writing here, apparently! Go me!

    Econfluence / / cousinry
Spitfire and Sunburst are cousins. They're an unlikely pair, but they make do with what they have.

    some cover arts

Hi there! Been hellishly busy lately, especially now that everything's returning to some variation of normal.

Did a fair bit of ponywords in spite of that, both new and old. Though I haven't really been keeping you guys up to date on the deetz since... Christmas, looks like. Time to rectify that.

    Merry Christmas!

I had been busy prepping something thematic for the occasion but alas, I couldn't finish in time.

    So have another story instead!

As for the Hearth's Warming story, maybe it'll come out soon. Who knows? :raritywink:

    a quick September / October check-in

First off, not dead! That's a start!

Second off, got vaxxed, which may or may not have played a part in the whole not being dead thing. Aftermath of the first jab was hell. Second one apparently was too, according to my upper arm. Otherwise, all's good!

L8 Night Problems · 5:04pm Oct 14th, 2012

Alright! To summarize everything.

Hey guys!
It's about past midnight here (sky is dark as fuck burnt meatballs... I was gonna say burnt meatballs...) and I've just compiled a grand list of problems for me to ponder over.

Problem solving time! Yay!

Anyhowz, here's the list:

And the most important of them all!

Here I am, basically sitting around when I'm supposed to be buried in my books.

I shoveled him back from the dead!

So, I don't give two damns about the exam (really, I just do it.) and I'm pretty much annoyed that all the time I could use for finishing out the chapters are converted into waste material.
The next chapter of Laurels... well... i'm almost reaching 2k words so its alright.
For those expecting Innocence ... that will take a little longer.

Which brings me to the next problem.

Loss of Interest

Innocence, being a complicated thing to work with, is not really working out the way I like to be.
Sure, the second chapter is at 1.4k words, but it doesn't seem like the stories clicking. One whole chunk of me wants me to just throw this into my scraps file.
I don't mind the little views (Yellow had the same thing and I didn't really care.) but I'll try to get it updated.

Future Stuff

No, it's not the future chapters! It's about college.
I still have no Thomas Edison idea about how the heck I'm gonna go through with life, despite Pinkie being here.

Hey!

And maybe I'll make plans, though I'll let life run its course first.
Now. Back to the problem with Laurels.

Teh Rising Word Mountain

If you have noticed, then you're observant, But if you don't...
Starting from Chapter 36: The Second Voyager, my word count is always over 4000.
Now, you may ask, what in your brilliantly insane mind is that a problem.

It's the chapters before it!!

Pinkie! That was my line!

No it's not! We agreed I was gonna say it!

But we-- never mind...
Doing a little rough editing on the first few chapters, I've noticed how incredibly horrible the formatting was (I suck badly last time :twilightsheepish:) and basically had to go word for word and slowly arrange them neatly.

So, this job will take even more of my available typing time, though not as much (since I won't do it every time; I realized this problem a month ago and I just finished revamping Chapter 7).

Finger Batteries... build more pylons...

Basically, the enthusiasm is somewhat lacking. Stories such as Without A Trace and Evening Star are getting a little left out, more because I plan to finish Laurels first.
Yet Laurels is diverting away from the expected path as well. I actually planned for Pinkie and Winter to kiss already, but it seems their relationship isn't really working out right now.

Kiss? Me kissing?

Nothing! Nothing at all!

Anyways, the last, but not least:

Brain Churning

Yep. My head's eager to type stuff in the future.
So, while I was typing the Arc down, it's like: For f*ck's sake, just type out the darn sequel already!!

The idea's are clear for the sequel, so that shouldn't be much of a problem.
The real problem is focusing on finishing this story, before moving on.

So that's basically it! Six problems to solve!
*sigh*

You can do it!

So, instead of ending it dully, I've prepared a sneak preview!
Here it is:

It was quiet nights like this that Harmony could appreciate.

The mare closed her eyes, letting the gentle breeze of the night flutter through her purple mane, her body basking in the ambiance in the dead night of winter, her face glancing up in the afterglow of the crescent moon hanging amidst the scintillation of stars scattered across the sky.
The town of Pendant Lakes still shone fervently below, somehow marveling the mare yet annoyed her at the time. Despite being in the remote regions of the north, it was like every other city in the rest of Equestria: always intent on celebrating the arrival of winter with the usual majesties of sparkling shops and adorned windows exhibiting an array of polished items standing on mere wooden racks that are able to interest even the most fussy of mares.
Speaking of winter, however...

Harmony turned back, her breath a shiver, towards the bedroom, smiling contently at the stallion draped under the crimson sheets.
Winter Palgiot let out a fuzzy snore, nearly making his marefriend laugh off the balcony. He cringed a little, his grip on the blankets tightening despite his given name.

"Silly stallion, you are..."

Her hooves padded onto the carpet, the mare slowly crept out of the door, shutting it behind with a near-silent click.
With one more circle of the scarf, she trotted down the corridors, illuminated only by the filtered rays of the moon. She had always considered herself a nocturnal pony, seeing how much energy she has in the darkest of night compared to early morning.

The direct opposite of Pinkie Pie.

Her attention quickly turned to that of the pink mare. She had seen her lingering around the palace lately, almost like whatever she was doing now, though only in the bright of the afternoon.
There wasn't a trace of happiness left in her since Gypsum's death. Harmony couldn't imagine the burden her friend was going through; the ones that she herself had started to strained under as well.

A few right turns, then a left ended her in the Music Room, once the haven of Carillon Palgiot.
The mare had read about her in one of the many books around the library a year ago, and had always looked up to her since then. Her talent in music seemed to have passed down towards Gypsum, who had a flute as her Cutie Mark.

She bit her lip, the signature chortle of the deceased Voyager echoing in her head.
"Not now, Harmony," the pink mare scolded herself. Now's not the time.
Her hoof scanned the brass instruments perched on the white cupboard, its knobs glistening a fine gold in the dazzling moonlight. She sighed with boredom, flicking one of the bells at the side.

*CLICK*

Yep! That's the beginning (or at least part of it)
Now, if you'll excuse me...

I gotta turn off my bathroom sink.

I gotta turn off my bathroom sink.

Yeah, I'd do that sooner, rather than later...

Love the Pinkie sprites!

And I'm sure you'll get over the problems. Maybe you should become an author for a job?
