My husband is roughly three years younger than me. He is about my height, but he looks bigger than he really is. He dropped out of high school but got his GED and went to the local Tech College to get a degree in Accounting. He worked for some car dealerships and eventually came to work at the same place I was employed. A co-worker set us up. We dated, found we liked each other, and got married.
He is on disability now, due to his depression. I got tired of having to put him in the hospital and never knowing what I might find when I returned from work or from running an errand. Since going out of work, he has not had to be hospitalized. Being at home also means he is there for Pinkie when she gets off the bus.
Because of his bouts with depression, he missed a lot of Pinkie growing up. We took her to a therapist (to see if she was ADHD) and she asked Pinkie to draw her family. She drew herself and me and her half-sister but not her daddy. The therapist asked her where her daddy was. She said "He's sick. He's in the hospital." Now, he is trying to connect with her- and he has. But she will still run to me for help. I can be on the toilet and she will run in there to ask me to pour her some juice!
I've kind of hoped of getting my husband interested in becoming a Brony. He is not interested, though I have told him a few delicious details from some of the clop-fics I've read. He was rather impressed when I told him John DeLancie does the voice of Discord. Star Trek: the Next Generation is one of his favorite old shows. (I prefer the original series, myself). He also likes "Orange is the New Black". I took joy in pointing out that "Crazy Eyes" provided the voice of a hippogriff queen.
He also likes "The Walking Dead". Maybe if Darryl becomes a Pony...hummmm.
